Chit Chat and All That...

So... here I am settling in for the night. Got the "Summer Night" masking setting loaded up and running on the Internet as well as the Lex Fridman podcast interview of Donald Hoffman discussing the fabric of reality. And for some reason all YouTube wants to promote is videos of hissing feral cats :dunno:

The Self Titled, Disco Volante, California, The Raging Wrath? Disco Volante is my favorite. I've listened to it more than silence in my life. Then Faith No More, Tomahawk, Fantomas, Dead Cross, Mondo Cane... Basically anything with Patton in it, although I might seem like a fan of him, it's just the coincidence of every project he is involved into, being an awesome piece of music. Even his collaborations with John Zorn.
@El BUZZ, I think you may be my dream man. Damn! Shame I'm not single. You like swimming, being outdoors, staying active. Your taste in music is perfect. You have tinnitus. What more can a girl want.

Any Patton project will do. But, I specifically like the order you put them in.
"gynecologist office jazz",
What a way to describe it! But I totally know what you mean.
I was a musician before tinnitus kicked in. I played saxophone (tenor and soprano), afrocuban percussion and bass.
Again, I repeat, I think you're my dream man. I sing and play guitar, but that's it. Though I'm a much better singer than I am guitar player.

Hey! How cool where my original post has been redirected to! I ignored this corner of Tinnitus Talk existed. Thanks admin, you've opened the pandora's box with it.

Steph, trust me I would be your nightmare man! Although I'd probably be your dream one night stand or friend with privileges...

What about your bf? He doesn't mark a 10 in every square? I'm sure he does, you seem to have very high standards.

Singing is so hard! At least doing it properly.

Would your bf mind if you had a tinnitus flirt affair???

Did you see this thread?

I'm repeating myself here, but I intend to observe posts on Tinnitus Talk over the next few years, with relation to EVs, as I had had high hopes for the higher standard of living they might provide to people with our condition.

I'd like to believe this was/will be an exceptional case.
Just had a look at that thread. Not sure what to make of it to be honest, but yes, hope it's an exceptional case.

I would have thought the lack of engine noise would provide a greater amount of comfort. But if it's wind noise that caused the spike, or potentially white noise coming from tyres on the road, then I guess that kind of thing is unavoidable and earplugs should be considered, particularly for people with hyperacusis.

What hahaha! I'm genuinely laughing at this.

All my YouTube suggestions are videos of morbidly obese people... because that's what I watch if I feel like eating to try and put me off. :popcorndrink:
I'm beginning to think there's an imposter in our house because if YouTube were following me around the Internet it would be punting out videos of car parts :)

Is the wife using your YouTube account? And does she like cats? If not, then as Toyah Willcox sang - "it's a mystery!"

But those cucumbers though... Now that's a different story.
Cucumbers. The cat's one and only predator.

Those are some crispy @falafel. The hummus is not too shabby either, but where's my tahini?
@ZFire, I'll try your tahini. But I've gotta be honest, it's making me nervous.

Most light sauces (like mayonnaise ) creep me out, especially if they're runny. And this "tahini" looks runny...

I can only handle hummus because the type I buy's texture is almost clay like. :bag:

And even then, sacking/replacing managers isn't always a move of desperation by a club in trouble. It can, and has, been adopted as a successful tactic by some club owners; like Abramovich for example. Simply put, a Chelsea manager has lucked out if they make it more than two seasons in Abramovich's employ; because the club's recipe for success has essentially been a revolving door of managers (practically a new one every season) for the last ten years
Wow this is nuts. I just looked it up and Chelsea actually won a FA cup and their first ever UEFA Cup in 2012 with a caretaker manager named Roberto di Matteo. It says he was appointed to full time manager under a 2 year contract after winning those 2 cups, but was removed shortly after during the following season. I'm a little perplexed because here's a guy who just helped your club win their first ever UEFA cup, as an interim no less and they just get rid of the guy less than a year like it's nothing. I would've at least given him the 2 years.
But apparently the frequent replacement of managers is working for them. Go figure.
Personally, I dislike this tactic, and prefer a club like Burnley's approach (despite their recent relegation), where they invest in a manager and allow them to grow and become familiar with the team. But I accept it has it's benefits, as it frequently changes the formula of a team and keeps it's style of play from becoming familiarly predictable.
Now this is something I can get behind.
All that said (above), in this case, yes, Southgate is the problem, and it is high-time he left.

He is a weak man, and subsequently a weak leader.

He is also a professional loser who is well known for choking when not choking really matters; hence the UEFA Euro 2020 Final, where he completely froze and made a series of utterly incomprehensible decisions (at the point he finally did).

So no, I have no respect for the man and I don't really care who his successor is, as long as they have a backbone, and crucially, put a stop to the BLM "taking the knee" nonsense at the start of every game; which has been a perfect example of Southgate's doormat approach to management.

Politics has no place in football, and it's very inclusion is divisive and destructive to the cohesion of a team (no matter what the British media say/have said about this being "the most united team ever").

At the end of the day, all this man should have on his mind, is how to win a game, not "educating" people around the world on (his views regarding) racism.

Like I said: weak man, weak leader. This year's tournament is going to be an embarrassment.
It seems like someone does not have their priorities in order. Performative activism especially when you're doing it sports (in another country no less) is a big "yikes" on my end.

If my team was being managed by someone already knee-deep in postmodern "progressive" ideology and shallow race politics, I'd lose interest very fast as well. I feel like you and I are on the same page when it comes to the topic of wokeness. For the past few years, I've been disillusioned with it myself.

Put both hummus and tahini on your @falafel and you'll be in heaven. Best combination ever.

Which one? I think there are several companies offering it. Haven't done it, but would be curious!
It's this one! :) Apparently, MyHeritage tests are the second best available (though I'm not sure how true that is). I only bought this specific kit because it was on offer - £85 to £35. I've only just received mine in the post - very excited to do it!

Nooooo! Wanted Kyrgios to win.
Alright @tpj.

But a couple of things for you to consider next time you'd like him to beat the likes of Djokovic/Nadal/Tsitsipas:

a) He has no decorum.

He has been rude and unsportsmanlike in every competition and tournament he's been in since his debut.

Just one example at the 2015 Montreal Masters:
While facing Stan Wawrinka in the second round, he told his Swiss opponent that his pal, fellow Aussie player Thanasi Kokkinakis, had slept with his girlfriend.

"Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend," he said during the second set. "Sorry to tell you that, mate."
b) He's a weak player.

While he is in the best form I've ever seen him in this year, I'll give him that, his tennis is weak... because he cannot play without throwing his opponent off (using the above tactics exampled in a).

Players like Nadal and Djokovic are worthy of respect because they focus only on their game. They don't try to distract and/or wind up the guy on the other side of the net, or hold up play, or blame drunk women in crowds for their unforced errors. They just play straight up tennis and zone out the goings on around them.

In time, Stefanos Tsitsipas will reach this zenith, like his contemporaries, but as it stands he is currently too green, and despite being an amazing player, succumbed to the irritant that is Kyrgios.

c) He has a "victim mentality".

The guy claims to be the underdog in every match, even when he's got the better deal.

One of the reasons I love Djokovic is that he never complains, and he had every reason to complain going into this final, as Kyrgios was spared an exhausting semi-final against Nadal (who had to pull out due to injury) and gifted an automatic place in the final. Djokovic on the other hand, had to play his semi-final against an amped up Cameron Norrie and as a result had only one day to recover (Kyrgios had three).

But which of them felt they were at a disadvantage? Kyrgios of course...

All that said. He earned back some of my respect this year, because he has clearly put some real effort into training (finally), after years of making very little, and playing the rebel with statements like"I definitely don't love the sport" and "I can't take it seriously" in interviews. And for his support of players like Djokovic to be allowed the decision to refuse the COVID-19 jab. Also, he is admittedly very entertaining to watch.

Look, I know he can be a total wanker but he's my wanker. Meaning, one fellow Australian supporting another.

You do make valid points and I particularly agree with and like your last paragraph.

Our un-vaccinated hero! :D
Yeah, the Australian Open vaccine debacle with Djokovic was one of the most cringiest display of political tribalism I've witness to date. I mean wasn't the dude already infected with the virus? And it was known that the vaccines do not prevent spread among the vaccinated either.

Of course if it's personal, I don't mean to pry. I just always wanted to post this gif. I felt like now was good opportunity to do so lol

It takes a month to find out the results. I didn't send it off straight away because I was hesitant about giving my DNA over as it will now always be on file now for different companies and governments to do what they want with it...

But, then I thought I'm gunna be dead one day anyway, and so in the grand scheme of things, life is utterly pointless and fleeting and we have no control over anything, so I might as well send it. Lol.

So, I will let you know the results when I have them. :)
