You gotta love Freddie :)

You do Star, his music never fails to make me smile. Music I general I love, miss going to festivals, concerts etc but that's ok I can listen to tunes on a low volume of course haha ( wouldn't be surprised if going to all those contributed to my T) as I said find joy in the small things :)

HA. My name is... Marcel Mercury. Sounds catchy.
& could not agree more. I used to listen to Queen all the time when I could still tolerate it.

Marcel Mercury it is.... nice to meet you ha
Yeah mate that sucks, I'm sorry. Can you listen to any chilled tunes, nothing with a crazy bass?

I've never seen anything like that mutation, it's amazing, he looks so not bothered either, I'm guessing it's somebody's pet or in a sanctuary. It's amazing how animals adapt so easily, wish the same could be said about us humans. We adapt to a certain degree but T and H is one perfect example how hard is can be to adapt....

edit: now I'm looking up mutations in animals haha

Nice to meet you too, mate! Nope. Even the sound of chewing hurts my ears lol. We'll see how life will turn out.

I think so. Very true btw... I remember when a couple of indian ringnecks escaped from the zoo in my city; they adapted within a matter of months. I see them flying everywhere nowadays, which is pretty crazy because they're basically tropical birds and the weather here is similar to that in the UK... They've been reproducing like crazy. Survival of the fittest huh.

I recently read about this very rare blue mutation of the Eclectus parrot. It's supposedly only found on one island somewhere, and they're really expensive. Beautiful birds.

Thats sh#t man, hyperacusis is a beast and add in tinnitus and it can wear the strongest of wills down. I'm hopeful for the future though in terms of something to at least take the volume down and to help heal the sensitivity, maybe I'm naive but I do think we will see something soon especially in terms of a "Lenire" type of device (I'll wait until I see the results from Lenire before I say anything haha) or treatment/pill but I'm still unsure about something that will totally erase tinnitus.

That's actually amazing mate, really interesting. Have they not tried to capture them? Doesn't surprise me that they are adapting ha and reproducing it definitely is survival of the fittest especially in the animal kingdom.
Those birds look amazing, the colour combos are so striking. Birds always have the most amazing colour pallets and more Importantly ears that regenerate the sensory hair cells :cautious:

I have moderate tinnitus and visual snow as well, but I find the severe hyperacusis to be the most debilitating. I don't think it's naive, perhaps a bit optimistic, but optimism is necessary during difficult times. I know I really need it right now! I agree on the neuromodulation part, that seems to be quite popular in science, so who knows...

I'm not sure, actually. I think the municipality just let it be haha. As far as I know, they're not a threat to the ecosystem here. Colour combinations are indeed really amazing, I love the fact that the birds can see even 'more' in those colours (apparently it's important in identifying other bird species). Yeah, I'm extremely jealous of their ability to do that... Why can't we regenerate hair cells again? The most ridiculous part is that we actually have progenitor (stem) cells that could differentiate into new hair cells. WHY ARE THEY INACTIVE???

I'll worry when's my "optimism" diminishes or my ability to find humour in most things....

I know the basics mate so I don't want to waffle and make myself sound even dumber  it does amaze me that they are inactive. The human body is an amazing thing but then also not so much, is it that we didn't need to have them regenerate to survive but birds need hearing for survival? Will we evolve in the future to regenerate or one of these "magic" pills will do it for us? I read something that somebody said on here that was true, we are the dumb people who keep inventing things that damage our hearing and body daily, so true.

Yup, there eyesight is amazing, I think eagles have the best eyesight, amazes me how birds of prey hunt! Flying at high speeds and can still spot their prey perfectly and plan out distance, size etc. Birds eyes are bigger than they look as well, anyway I'll shut up now I've made myself sound stupid and geeky enough for today o_O

They are all my pets Elmer, I have a huge sanctuary....Just messing mate, I wish I did.

I just look for them online, type in whatever I want to see and then choose the ones I like.
I worked for a man who had over 200 species of birds, everything from exotic parrots to Asian owls which are quite large. We had 8 pairs of Scottish red grouse which I was the first person to get them to produce chicks. We were told they wouldn't breed in captivity but if you let nature do its thing it will work. If I knew how to upload pictures of them I would do so. I have short videos of them talking. But only using a mobile phone I've not a clue.

That sounds like all cats... well the ones I've met haha they seem to take a dislike to me  not sure why most animals love me. They are too independent for me, as in do whatever the f they want haha they are beautiful creatures to look at though.

It's all about the personalities and tests to get the cat you want. That's why all my old cats were good. It didn't matter how far they went when I called they came to me. A few times there was a power play, but it's the same as training a dog. Mr. Peaches was the only male critter I ever kept, but I could pull him out of a cat fight and I knew he wouldn't buzz me. (He also picked flowers from the neighbors yard and brought them to me!)

My mom rushed and got Cinder after my old manx of 20 years died. (I was depressed from my T and she thought I'd do something stupid.) The lady we bought her from lied, and I hadn't done kittens in 16 years. Cinder wasn't not weened, or ready to potty on her own yet. Thankfully I am a smother hen, from my years of raising baby chickens never lost one, and I knew something was up. When they don't have a chance to play with mom and siblings the kitten loses a lot. Not only that but training them is different. I wish I would have gotten Mulan sooner to help her.

I also think being a sheltered indoor cat turns them into little spooks! Ha-ha. Though I did keep Midnight my spookiest kitten from Sneakers!

It's funny I take them outside on leashes or in their bags and it's all good. But that's how their were raised. Especially Cinder. Cinder went everywhere with me. She even walked the hand rails down to Tower Falls at Yellowstone.

Sorry, I can go on forever about my fur babies and I'm a rambler. Dangerous combo.

So I thought I'd make some people happy. Here's Cinder's Yellowstone hike!
We're at the top before the decent. She's people watching.
EPYsvZAU8AAfqkp?format=jpg&name=360x360.jpg

Sun finally came out and she loves the feel of the warm metal to that wood railing. Though she's not thrilled about the wet spots from the rain shower from earlier.

We're just a turn away from the bottom of the falls. Which is when I put her in her carrier, because the roar of the falls is super intimidating. Plus, this was our "last chance to pet Cinder" stop. People were obsessed with her.

Nice, that must of cost him a good few pennies to feed them all, Was it his own private sanctuary? That's amazing, love the fact you got them to breed.
Yeah that would be great to see, don't worry about uploading the videos. If the videos are on your phone it's easy to upload, if not I wouldn't worry about it.

That's one beautiful looking cat, those pictures are really good, not sure what I like more the view or the cat haha she looks so wary as well haha

Don't worry about talking about your cats too much, have you seen the crap I post and write about haha I like people being loving and excited about their pets, it shows me what type of person they are. I definitely agree with its how the animal is raised, certain breeds of dogs get such a bad rap and most of the time it's actually their owners not training them properly or mistreating them.
That was lovely of your mother to do that for you and happy you knew how to deal with her, pets can bring us so much comfort and joy, I couldn't be without now.

Ha I'd be petting Cinder as well especially in her little harness haha love it Shera (y)

I had ice cream and cherry pie (my friend kindly bought it for me) about an hour ago and my ears spiked..... I'm hoping this is just my T being it's unpredictable obnoxious self and not because of the sugar!!!! I've never had a pike off sugar before, I don't eat much crap like that but I enjoy it when I do so please sugar don't be messing my ears up every time I have a treat.

She was six months old there and still in training.

Now she's a pro.

He was a private owner, the cost of feed and the different medication that was required to keep them healthy was more than a normal person would make in a year. I really enjoyed being around the different breeds of birds.

Can you explain the process of uploading from my phone.

Thanks, I see you are in the UK, I'm across the water from you in Ireland.

I bet it cost a fortune to feed them all, some would have expensive dietary requirements. Has he still got the sanctuary?

I thought I knew but I actually don't haha I only know how to upload a video from YouTube etc not sure how to actually upload a video from my phone??
Maybe save your video onto your downloads on your phone then possibly try to drag it onto here as if you were going to reply to somebody? Sorry Elmer had a brain freeze I'm not actually sure??

Yeah cool, I love Ireland. Where abouts are you?

What's she saw in the bush to attack haha mate I love that sweater on her haha shes gorgeous

Ha-ha, I think it's just weeds blowing. Cinder is quite proud of her sweater and jacket collection. If you think she's gorgeous Mulan will knock your mind socks off!

That is pricey! And cool that he could do that. I love having my chickens. Though I'd love to take care of other breeds. There's a falconer down the road and I just love his birds. I settled for volunteering at our bird sanctuary and I love the owls. We get quite a few different predators at my place now though so I feel like I do take care of them! Though I have to make extra runs to keep my silkie chickens safe from those big predators. Though I am very tempted to try pigeons!

Well I figured how to upload them but when I went to do it it said the video was too large to load. Oh well, but when the Male grouse get to talking it's something else. It's like they are saying "we're through" or f$#k off.
We are in co. Wicklow. We live in an old refurbished 1790s stone cottage at the foothills of the Wicklow mountains.
