Cheers mate, how is life treating you? Any more shows or books you have been getting into?
The Wolf In The Whale by Jordanna Max Brodsky is a good read so far.

Watchmen is a great show, though it's best that you read the original graphic novel before watching.

I don't post here much but what I'm really tired of, is seeing life return to normal in my country but getting health care remains nearly impossible.

I've had so many issues this entire year (that just so coincidentally happened to appear right along with my tinnitus) but I've either not been taken seriously or I'm only getting phone consultations. It's getting so exhausting, dealing with it all. It would be even without the tinnitus, but it just so happens that the tinnitus took away all of my coping mechanisms.

But ah, that's life I guess.

It's gotten a lot quieter with out you! ;)

Ah, thanks for asking. I just got done brushing my beautiful babies and a toenail trim. They look better than ever! They keep me sane. I honestly don't think I'd be coping so well through tinnitus and everything without them. They keep me going. (Just don't tell my parents! Though I have a suspicion that's why my mom let me get so many after I lost my last fur babies.) I had an almost total break down and playing with them along with petting and snuggling just brings me back to a calmer place.)

Man it popped up on Hulu and I was gonna watch it, but then they put it on "live TV". Looks like I'll be renting it from the local video store. Is it better than the movie? (I do say that being fond of the movie.)

Hard to say.

I say that they're both good, in different ways. (The movie certainly has merit despite its flaws.) I personally liked the show better, but I could understand someone prefering the movie. The show isn't perfect either.

Also note that the show follows comic canon, not movie canon.

I feel you on this so hard. It's been my number one issue with having tinnitus.
For me silence was really important to recharge. Music got me through everything. The experience of it all is just ruined because my tinnitus can get intrusive (not reactive, just fluctuates a lot regardless of sound etc).

Agreed. I have "my favorite silent places". Not just quiet. Silent. My username for other online accounts usually had silent/silence in it. Couldn't bring myself to use it here.

When others talk about how there's noise everywhere I think they must be city people or people who don't go out in nature much.Or the country.

Mine too. Trying to mask at night didn't work because my tinnitus would just get louder and louder. I never know when or why it's gotten louder or a blessedly quieter.

I don't necessarily think it's the masking in my case, or noise in general. Even lying in a completely silent room with plugs makes my tinnitus fluctuate

It nearly always spikes after a shower, but I've had the same temporary tone after being out in hot weather, or being warm in general.

I honestly think it's either just my brain being an asshole or posture related, but who knows. My tinnitus has been incredibly strange from the start. You know it's bad when you're just wishing for stable tones

Also I do like your username here. Most of mine have either had the word Silver or Light in it, but considering my current username on most sites and apps was inspired by a song I had to go with something else here, too.

Same. I just explained it wrong.

It nearly always spikes after a shower,
Mind did this for almost 2 years and now showers almost seem to reset it.

It's ever changing what it decides to do.
You know it's bad when you're just wishing for stable tones
Oh, yeah.
Also I do like your username here.
Ah, thank you. I like yours as well.

Nice I will have to look that book up and add it my to already huge read list haha
I watched the first 2 eps and couldn't get into it (which is the normal for me since I've got tinnitus) it's something I think I would enjoy so I'll have to go back to it.
I finished Wynonna Earp well the first two seasons which wasn't bad and what we do in the shadows which makes me laugh both the series and film.

Not sure what country you are from, I know here in the UK tinnitus and hyperacusis aren't taking serious from my experience anyway. It is kind of brushed off as a "bit of noise" which is infuriating, while we do have some things that are aimed at to help you "cope" but they don't work in terms of helping everybody and I question sometimes if they truly do help and they are quite outdated.

I feel the same as in my coping mechanisms are pretty non existent at the moment just that little bit of positivity hanging on.

Have you tried any relaxation techniques again it doesn't work for everybody but I know it can help some. Do you know what caused your tinnitus? You haven't had it long so there is always a chance it could fade or even go away. Also a good few will become accustomed to it in time and live a somewhat normal life but again no guarantees so I wouldn't put any added pressure on yourself.

toenail trim... sounds like fun  yeah pets can be an absolute saving grace even when you don't have any health issues, unconditional love and as you said they can bring a calm like nothing else. I was going to say no judgemental but you have cats so they can be very judgmental
Have you watched the latest series of she ra? I'm about 2/3 series behind now.

Pretty much the same where I'm from in regards of tinnitus and I was expecting it. Was not expecting my other symptoms to be dismissed so easily though, especially because they've been persistent for months.

As for the cause, not sure. Could have been neck trauma, could have been an earwax build up, could have been an infection, could have been a very minor noise trauma (95db for less than 5 seconds), could have been stress/exhaustion/anxiety or possibly tmj. Personally I believe it's a combination of all of them.

It hasn't changed much in 6 months so I doubt it'll get better. Just getting through each day now.

What We Do In The Shadows is an absolute gem.

I haven't seen Wynonna Earp, but I've heard good things, and I remember the hashtag about saving it from cancellation. I guess it worked?

I've been meaning to start Penny Dreadful, and then probably I'll do a Hannibal rewatch.

I hate it when this happens.

I've done this to them since they were kittens so they're fairly chill. It's all about timing. Like nap time.

Exactly. I farted a while back with Cinder on my lap. Which she does to me all the time. Let me tell you the reaction and the judgement!!

Have you watched the latest series of she ra? I'm about 2/3 series behind now.
Yes! I've totally completed it now. I really enjoyed the ending. The further it went a long the better it got. Some things felt a bit rushed, but over all I enjoyed it!

"You can't do that! Only I can do that!"

Also I just finished the first episode of Penny Dreadful and was completly engrossed. I can tell already this could very well be my next fave show, if the first episode is any indication.

Have you seen it, @Shera and @Jcb?

"You can't do that! Only I can do that!"
Yeah. The look she gives me any time she thinks I'm gonna fart.

Yes! I have watched Season 1 of Penny Dreadful. Loved it and I have no doubt you will too @aot!! I bought the total boxset back in 2017, but haven't finished the series much for the same reasons as @Jcb

I need a rewatch season 1 before wrapping up the series.

I get you!! It's so frustrating unfortunately it seems you have to have a limb literally hanging off for any action even then they will probably say just use glue to stick it back on ha ha.

Have you been to a dental specialist about seeing if it's possible TMJ, if it is that can be normally sorted with a mouth guard if it isn't too bad. The same with the neck trauma I would look into that and explore any avenue you can within your financial means anyway for your TMJ, neck etc because those can be at least treated.

6 months is still so early in terms of T, this shit can take the strongest down to their knees and if it is stress, TMJ etc then when they get treated that should hopefully help with the noise again no guarantees but I know from stories I've read with TMJ, stress that once they were treated the volume went right down and some even went.

We are here so if you ever feel like ranting, talking or just chatting bolloxs to take your mind off it (which I do on the regular) this thread and many others will be happy to listen and chat :)

Yes, I love what we do in the shadows so stupid but funny. I'd give Wynonna a go when you get the chance. Penny dreadful was great, well the 1st series was after that I didn't keep up with it haha I love Eva Green anyway.

Never watched Hannibal, worth a go?

I know there is a few new shows coming to Netflix but they seem to aimed at teenagers  so I'll probably give them a miss.

Eh listen if you farted by me I'd be judging you as well  well after the initial laughing stops :D

I'll have to catch up with She Ra then along with so many others haha

glad they are chilled I would be terrified of getting clawed to death if I tried to trim those sharp weapons they have....

Never watched Hannibal, worth a go?
YES! Mads Mikkleson takes the character and makes it his own. He dosen't just try to copy Anthony Hopkins. He does his own thing, and it works.

Hugh Dancy is great as Will Graham as well. The whole thing is just spectacular.

(Also don't watch this show while hungry. It'll mess with you a bit.)
