Since a couple of months I have noise induced tinnitus from single time loud headphone use.
During the last few days I have noticed that if I clench my jaw very hard for a few seconds some of the tinnitus tones actually completely stop for a couple of minutes. I am aware somatic tinnitus exists but I have never had anything like it before before my acoustic trauma. My tinnitus is also not affected by neck or jaw movements.
Can anyone explain this?
Because it almost feels like somehow the induced tinnitus can by jaw clenching temporarily overwrite it and then when I stop the clenching the noise induced tinnitus temporarily disappears with it...
