If you claim to like country music but haven't heard an album by this duet, then you're a poser, simple as that.

Hey threefirefour I tried to post a gif in your thread but it didn't work....

@threefirefour I saw that video over the weekend....:)

There is a new country rap type of music going on. I am still deciding if I like it or not.

Now I will go hit your thread with a view...gotta keep you up there.

Thanks for the view. MPP has almost risen to the top but we're struggling.

I've heard country-rap before. Yeah I'm not a fan regular country is definitely the best of the country genres. Country rock is okay (My favorite being the only one I don't dislike, and that's as close to actual country I'll ever get), but country metal is terrible. idk feels like country was definitely better when it didn't genre mix as much, like absorbing pop influences.

This song had real meaning for me the first few years after being discharged from four years of military service. The adjustment from having a number of close friends that always wanted to do something with me to no friends was very difficult for me. It would stay that way until I met a really nice girl, years later. I drank way too much on Saturday nights and always had a hangover-head on Sunday mornings. Seeing families happy together while I was alone and had no where to go that there was anyone who really wanted me there. Yeah, I remember that Sunday mornings were a difficult and sad thing back then....

@jimH

I had no idea that Johnny Cash did this song, it is very poignant indeed and I have always liked it. The version that I remember best was this one, by Kris Kristofferson.

Thanks @jimH I love reading why songs touch people in different ways. Thank you for your service to our country. The feeling of isolation after serving is very real and most people don't get it. I am glad you met that special person.

I am gonna start posting songs in a while. So busy right now working.

@Jazzer!!! Please do continue with your blues here on the country thread!! It is very much a part of the country genre. And introduces me to your music.

This one is an older song that came out when I left the ATA and everything to do with tinnitus support. It touched on aspects of how I felt and was treated. And leaving meant time to heal myself so that I can be here on TT with my experiences and a new outlook.

Thanks for sharing with us as to why that song has meaning for you. I'm glad that you've recovered/healed enough after leaving them so that you can be here with us. The forum is definitely better since you've become active.

Jim
