Ok so mine does. It's nice but when I take them out there is a few second spike. Is that normal? It actually happens whenever I go from noise to silence. Does this mean they are damaging me and eventually they will mess me up more?

I guess I am so afraid they will make the T worse. What do you guys think?

Marie...

Maybe you are experiencing a zwicker tone. I was advised to turn down the noise gradually before removing the aides as your t will always seem louder at first.

I was told by my audio that the aides are set at a safe level so will not cause auditory damage.

I picked up a hearing aid yesterday and wore it for a few hours and my tinnitus is worse! It was supposed to help. I am so upset. Is there a particular kind of hearing aid that helps? This is my first post so if this has been answered before i apologize.

A warm welcome to Tinnitus Talk judib.
Hearing aids set at the right setting for your hearing should help take the edge off your tinnitus and allow time for your ears adjust with out then before bedtime about an hour.
If you have had your hearing aids on a to high setting that may have irritated your ears.
Mine have 4 settings and each has a sub setting allowing each setting to amplify up a few decibels with a short press on the rocker switch and a longer press to up a level and level 4 adds white noise.
So you can see you might need to tweak the settings to find the right one for you for each day...lots of love glynis
