Tinnitus Talk submitted a new resource:

Does Aspirin Have a Protective Role Against Chemotherapeutically Induced Ototoxicity? (version 1.0) - To investigate whether aspirin attenuates the ototoxic properties of cisplatin.

Aspirin (ASA) has been shown, in an animal model, to attenuate the ototoxic properties of cisplatin. The researchers plan to investigate this in patients undergoing cisplatin chemotherapy.

The researchers hypothesise that low-dose aspirin can prevent cisplatin induced ototoxicity in the clinical setting.

there are many, many ototoxic drugs like aspirin and antibiotics. from what I've read as a patient, NSAIDS cause hearing loss. there is a list of 200 drugs now that destroy or damage hearing at least which is not including effects from drugs that are unknown

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT00578760
The status is still unknown

But I sent e-mail 3 days ago to Emma Barker, the contact of the trial. She kindly replied today:

Dear Frederic,

Many thanks for your e-mail.
This trial is about to be published in the next month or so.
Unfortunately, aspirin does not protect against cisplatin ototoxicity!
This has been a disappointment for the trial team, but at least we know not to pursue this avenue further!

Best wishes

Emma
