But I'm wondering how?

Noise damages the vestibular system which controls balance. I have the same thing now since my acoustic trauma. I have false sense of motion.

That's called Mal de Barquement. I have a touch of it and Venlafaxine seems to help suppress it.
 
Yes.
I get dizziness and occasional vertigo. My balance is much worse since my first acoustic trauma.
 
I have light dizziness most of the time since my tinnitus started. And noticed dizziness increase when my tinnitus got worse last month from more noise exposure.
