Double Vision on Bright Text

I am short sighted and have been wearing glasses since my early 20s but now I have noticed a problem with my vision in my left eye with bright text when watching television or looking at a computer screen. When I look at bright (usually white) text on a dark background there seems to be ghosting on the text (like another copy of the text slightly underneath the text).

I don't know if this is because I have the cold but it's quite disconcerting. Strange thing is that when hold a card with a pin hole up to my affected eye and look through the pin hole the ghosting disappears and I see the text as normal. I am going to book an appointment with my optician.

I am wondering if this is to do with stress because I have been suffering a lot of stress recently and I suffer anxiety, depression and panic disorder. Please advise.

how are you managing your anxiety panic disorder?

Not too good. I have always been an anxious person but since suffering a panic attack in 2015 my anxiety has got worse and I have developed general anxiety disorder, depression and panic disorder. I get the horrible physical symptoms with the anxiety like tinnitus, migraine headache, neck pain, back pain, pressure sensation in head, muscle tension, bruxism and worst of all dizziness and nausea.

I was getting better a few months ago until stressful things started happening which brought back the anxiety and the symptoms. One thing that has helped is listening to the works of Dr Claire Weekes who advises to accept, float and let time pass when suffering anxiety, panic and the symptoms.

Anyway this problem with ghosting when looking at bright text in my left eye is making my anxiety worse.

And are you taking anything to lower your anxiety currently or have you taken anything for your anxiety in the past that worked or didn't work? Either supplement, dietary or pharmaceutical?
