Cause of Tinnitus
Noise induced, acoustic trauma
Hi. Can a doctor or anyone else explain to me the following problems. I am now in a situation where I have to travel a lot by bus from one city to another. The trip lasts for 5-6 hours.

It involves going from a lower to a higher elevation.

Now, I guess that because of the elevation, there is ear fullness and ear pressure.

However, I have never ever had this experience prior to my tinnitus and hyperacusis.

So, my question is whether this is a pressure created in my inner ear or whether I have issues with my ET and maybe I suffer from ETD although my doctors said ET was fine.

Should I be worried about a hearing damage?

Suck a sweet or chew gum and see if that helps ear pressure on descent.
love glynis

Yes, the ears are sensitive to changes in pressure which is why we have pressure equalizing tubes (aka Eustachian tubes) that replenish the air in the middle ear space behind the eardrum. If these tubes are narrow, or not working properly, then you will feel pressure in the ears.
