Cause of Tinnitus
Noise-Induced (Car Subs/Earbuds)
I was wondering since I saw a post refering to saffron and another refering to CBD oils in which both helped eliminate their tinnitus respectively. My idea was due to both substances effecting the endocannabinoid system if it was possibly linked to a cure for tinnitus.

ALSO, I did some research and daily activities/stresses bog down our endocannabinoid system in which could be linked to why our tinnitus is slightly louder by the time we go to sleep compared to when we first wake up (at least mine is this way with it seeming to be 20% or more quiter in the mornings).

Anyways, this idea just popped in my head and was wondering if ya'll had any thoughts? I'm going to try using saffron and try and get my hands on some CBD oil to possibly further verify my claim in the future. Until then, best of luck to everyone! ;)

@Cameron C like you way of thinking...I think together we can find a cure for this ...Try and let me know the results. Also try the Saffron dried petals and not any other extract..

your story about saffron is strange i admit, that why i try it.

But i think there is no saffron better than an other. Plus i think, we just can't figure how it work if it work.

Interesting theory. Here is something I plucked out of random articles but there is definitely some sort of relevance even although the second article talks about mainly retinal neurodegeneration.

This evidence suggests that both CB1 and CB2 receptors are important in the control of balance and hearing.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19086305

Saffron "engages" both the CB1 cannabinoid receptor and the CB2 cannabinoid receptor "in order to afford retinal protection," the Italian scientists concluded.

Important things I have read are not to overdo saffron guys and girls. Over 5mg seems to be toxic and it can lead to miscarriage if you are taking high doses and are pregnant.

Take my anecdote with a grain of salt. Preceding my T onset I was taking around 40mg/day of CBD extract/Tincture with terps for about 3 or 4 months to battle Anxiety. My god does CBD shred anxiety. However, one morning I woke up with my T. In no way am I suggesting CBD had a role, but the timelines overlap a tiny bit. My T onset was not due to noise damage. I have read that some people's T gets worse on CBD, but I am not sure if they have any THC mixed in or just CBD. I haven't been brave enough to try CBD again since I am struggling with my first 5 days of onset.
Best of luck, I will be watching both these threads like a hawk.

Well I just got my hands on some CBD dab wax, not sure of the percentage. The first day I had it, I took 2 decent sized hits (one during the day and one before bed). So far, I haven't noticed any change. But that might also be because I have a high tolerance for cannabis/extracts in general. I'll give it more time though and test a little on the dosages to see if theres any change in T. Even though T wasn't really changed in volume, it still relaxes you to where it felt more relieving to deal with. Making it a much better alternative to other sleep aids for long term imo. In regards to saffron, I'll give it a go when I get a chance and can buy some. :D

Anxiety or depression , hard to tell , I am sometimes depressed that I have T , mostly I get anxious when its low volume...for some reason. But I felt no effects from CBD oil whatsoever ?
I am researching cbd oil for its possible anxiety relief, I have life changing Tinnitus, and trying to avoid antidepressants as the first one lasted only 3 days due to a spike each time,,, I am finding there are many types of cbd oils,, some even synthetic,,,some have low level THC like 0.05 % with 17% CBD oil,,,,,and others completely different, some even add other stuff to it,,,,so as of now i am not sure which to try,,,I think some has some (Low level of cbd oil) in it and lots of other stuff added to it that makes it a watered down version, but can call it cbd oil since it has some in there,,,will post more if i get positive info

Not as much as at first , that is , it varies a lot more.
Still helps immensely in the morning , which is wonderful as waking up to horror T has always been my biggest issue.

I'm trying to get my hands on some real cannabis oil, not Hemp oil as the oil that's extracted from the seed doesn't have the strength that proper cannabis oil has, only problem is I'll have to travel to England (I live in Northern Ireland) to get it and the UK isn't very friendly when it comes to marijuana...

Hi, LovesWilbur: I just purchased some CBD. It is 15 mg per capsule. How do you take for anxiety relief. Thank-you in advance for your help -

Hello dgray,

I was first purchasing 30ml bottles from vendors out of Colorado. They are really pricey but worked well. I used them sublingual, usually about a 15mg-30 mg as needed. I eventually started making my own tinctures and vapes with pure CBD isolate. I dissolved 1000mg (usually in oil to take under the tongue or in a vape safe concoction) into a 30ml bottle. I never tried in pill form but I guess it is no different than taking the CBD isolate in oil. 15mg-30mg usually did the trick for me. More towards the higher end. Some days I took around 60-80 if I knew I had a rough day ahead. From what I hear any more than that CBD can actually cause some anxiety so I never went overboard. It really was great, I never had a panic attack on it. Sometimes I felt it trying to come on but it never could develop. It's a great anxiolytic affect with no high or loopy feeling that benzos give me. I have read that CBD does make peoples tinnitus louder so I haven't tried since my onset. Best of luck.

I've been reading allot about CBD oil lately. I live in NY & you must get certified & issued a NYS card & script. from a NYS Medical Marjiuana licensed Doctor. It is approved only for certain ailments, one of which is NOT Tinnitus! Ha! Of course.
But if you have any of the other certified ailments; they must be documented in writing in your medical records for at least a 3 month period, nothing else is working & you are expected to have this issue for at least one year, then you can get the script. You then take to a certified dispensary, where the pharmacist advices you & you get the oil. Most insurance companies don't cover. The cost can be from $100-400 per month depending on the dose.
Geeze!
But this is what I also found out.
Disclaimer: I have NOT bought it yet, but I'll be doing it soon. I'm still researching companies to buy online. We need to make sure it's from a supplier with a good rep., comes from organic plants & has no crazy-ass fillers. Some are very toxic! The dosage is typically 40mg a day - 20mg am & 20mg pm before bed. Best is the oil. You place under tongue for 90 seconds & then drink water. The stuff has no or teeny amount of THC so you don't get high. It can have some temporary side effects if your body needs to detox; light headache, slight dizziness & skin eruptions. These should go away soon. The advise is to drink plenty of water.
Why take it if not for Tinnitus? Because the best thing (for me) it that it can supposedly calm that damm brain anxiety. For me, that's the worst for the Tinnitus. I don't want to live on benzo's for the rest of my life. I want to break the anxiety-Tinnitus-anxiety cycle. That would be my reason.
Will keep in touch.

I too was taking CBD oil (for sleep) and I feel that in the time that I was taking it, around 3 weeks later, that my T became really loud in my right ear. Soooo, I don't know if it was the trigger, but I have stopped it for now. I was taking 15 drops of 100 mg CBD oil ab0ut 2x daily.
