Fan and Tinnitus Masking

Hello everyone,

Does your fan mask the high pitched tinnitus when you sleep or not? If not, what can be done to improve the masking?

I have moderate tinnitus, I use a fan and sound machine, I don't have spikes in the night fo a while now.

I use a fan but it doesn't mask the tinnitus. I have high pitched tinnitus and there's just too much variance between the two. The fan does relax me and does mask other sounds but not the tinnitus. I personally use a mp3 from Sound Oasis (the people who make the sound machines) called Summer Night. It's basically cricket sounds but a good one and one that matches my tinnitus. I have one of these as well and have found several of the sounds useful. I switch them out from time to time.
