This piece of art is as breathtaking in its simplicity as it is disturbing content wise. I know it doesn't really match the scene but when I first looked at it I was thinking, Well, hello Carrie! And the cover of Harrow County Issue 7, by Tyler Crook.
What a brilliant idea, thanks for putting it out there! In line with the themes of favourite quotations, favourite books, favourite pieces of music etc…
I would like to suggest:
'Favourite Works of Art.'
I thought it was an obvious extension of our preferences Leila. What a brilliant idea, thanks for putting it out there!
I love the thread idea, also. It's fascinating to see everyone's favourite pieces. Good jobI thought it was an obvious extension of our preferences Leila.
Thanks for your support.

Look what they did just next to my house, just a couple of weeks ago (I live in a coastal city with a big fishing port)That's a stupid move by those municipalities. Some people seem to think it's a symptom of decay, while it should be considered as a welcome addition to the cityscape. Why don't you show us some lovely street art (or what remained of it) from your beautiful country?

Edvard Munch "The Scream" (1893)
This one especially for all of us, forced to express much of our pain and anxiety privately, silently, while in hateful noise.

Very nice water colours. On YouTube there is a charming video of Steve Hanks talking about the pain of divorce, and being a full time father with his children to bring up.
A very expensive book as you can see, but I am shopping around to pick up a copy.
It's a 'must have' for me.
A very gentle soul, painting beautiful women, in water colours, with incredible technique and sensitivity.
Art simply does not get any better.

Boulogne sur Mer, north of France. Where do you live in Romania? I spent some time in Timisoara but didn't see street art there either ^^Where do you live?
Unfortunately, in my town we don't have such thing as "street art". Just dirt, garbage and vandalism.
I suppose the artists have to ask for the owner permission?
Well living with Picasso sure wasn't easy. The saddest painting I have ever seen.
Description
'The Weeping Woman is an oil on canvas painting by Pablo Picasso, which he created in France in 1937. The painting depicts Dora Maar, Picasso's mistress and muse.'

This image depicts more grief than any photorealist exhibit could portray IMHO.
Constanta, south east of Romania, on the Black Sea coast.Boulogne sur Mer, north of France. Where do you live in Romania? I spent some time in Timisoara but didn't see street art there either ^^
Probably the best idea on here. Grand job @Jazzer.I thought it was an obvious extension of our preferences Leila.

In which case, here's two more.I'm very much looking forward to that

"TheEmbrace" by Egon Schiele.
I adore this painting.
In my imagination, this poor guy is suffering from severe tinnitus, and his loving partner is soothing his head with her gentle caresses.
What a smooth transition from the Chit Chat sexy threadAgreed @Jazzer.
We're coming at this from very similar angles.
In my imagination: this poor guy is suffering from severe multi-tonal reactive tinnitus, and he's just told this hot random girl he met on the internet 2 hours ago, all about it; she feels so bad for him, she's decided he deserves some sexy-time.
I think we're definitely on the same page!
I like this a lot! These are by Mimi Leung, illustrator, art for advertising, etc Since she works as an illustrator and creates art for commercial brands, I would love it if she did tshirts or posters:
