We met the owner of this amazing place and he was something else. I put it up on @Jazzer's thread Agnostic "R" Us. Only because of what we had talked about, well mostly of what he said. Very interesting it was.Thank you for sharing these. I enjoyed reading about them.
Yes - that's just how it is Ed.A friend posted this today, and I thought it might resonate here (particularly with @Jazzer, maybe). She lost her daughter three years ago to a terrible life-limiting condition called Friedrich's Ataxia (which I've posted about before).
It's a poem by Donna Ashworth, and the artwork is by Kenneth Crane.
YOU DON'T JUST LOSE SOMEONE ONCE
You lose them over and over,
sometimes many times a day.
When the loss, momentarily forgotten,
creeps up,
and attacks you from behind.
Fresh waves of grief as the realisation hits home,
they are gone.
Again.
You don't just lose someone once,
you lose them every time you open your eyes to a new dawn,
and as you awaken,
so does your memory,
so does the jolting bolt of lightning that rips into your heart,
they are gone.
Again.
Losing someone is a journey,
not a one-off.
There is no end to the loss,
there is only a learned skill on how to stay afloat,
when it washes over.
Be kind to those who are sailing this stormy sea,
they have a journey ahead of them,
and a daily shock to the system each time they realise,
they are gone,
Again.
You don't just lose someone once,
you lose them every day,
for a lifetime.

Honestly Ed - your mind?!It looks like there's something dodgy going on in that first image.
To be fair, you can't find a picture of Andrew Pierce or Kevin Maguire that doesn't look "dodgy".It looks like there's something dodgy going on in that first image.
Sound was better than those lousy mp3 files...Thousands of old records. Mostly jazz and I have several of Miles Davis, that go for $500 to $700 a piece.
I thought of purchasing a Wangechi Mutu when it was already too late and the prices have rocketed...It's said that a $5000 investment (now) may be worth $100,000 in 15 years. That is if you pick the right artist and paintings.
Where we at here, @Stacken77?Lol, thought I'd share this. Reminds me of a better time...

"Bliss" (in high definition). Most likely one of history's most viewed photographs.
When I logon to my computer and behold this majestic wallpaper, I feel this warm feeling of being home. This familiar landscape of serene greenery. Just love it.
It is a virtually unedited photograph in the American Viticultural Area of California's Wine Country. Charles O'Rear took the photo in January 1996 and Microsoft bought the rights in 2000. Yes, it is estimated that billions of people have seen the picture, possibly making it the most viewed photograph in history.Lol, thought I'd share this. Reminds me of a better time..
Yes Juan, Barbora is a very skillful artist with an incredible talent. To anyone who hasn't seen it, I can highly recommend the Norwegian documentary "The Painter and the Thief". Such an authentic story on how an unexpected friendship can occur.Barbora Kysilkova. Discovered this amazing artist on the movie "The Painter and the Thief".
