Cause of Tinnitus
Still unknown... possibly noise exposure?
Woke up with a 40 degree fever this morning... great. Ears were plugged, head is ringing like crazy, whole body hurts. Apparently our baby boy gave me foot mouth hand disease, or something along those lines. Erg... Can't wait for this loud tinnitus to go away.

On another note, have you guys ever noticed how some people seem to be immune to loud noise?
I'm working as an equipment operator right now running a loader on a top soil screening site; with the windows closed etc its fairly quiet. I'd say maybe 70 to 75 decibels. One can carry on a quiet conversation on the phone, so that's good.

There's also a co-worker in his.. I dunno... 50s maybe, that runs a track loader from the late 70s to push unscreened dirt towards the screener. That machine has no windshield, soundproofing, and broken glass in the doors, and he runs that thing without earplugs for 10 hrs a day, probably 5 to 6 days a week. I cant believe it.. how does he not get severe T? That thing must be 110dB all day long, and he says it doesn't bother him. I even offered my ear muffs or ear plugs to help with the noise, but he insists not to wear any hearing protection. If I did that for even 30 minutes I might as well stick a screw driver in my ear holes lol.

I hope your tinnitus goes away soon! :)

Does this guy know about tinnitus? I hope someone tells him. That level is a major violation of OSHA. And OSHA regulations aren't adequate to prevent all damage.

I doubt my T will go away, ever. Unless a treatment or cure is found.
But it calmed down, I had a good night's sleep and a good sweat that soaked the bed. Haha.

I don't know if he knows about T. We (the company) provide personal protective equipment, but if he refuses to wear ear plugs..
