Cause of Tinnitus
Plaquenil (Hydroxychloroquine)
I have had tinnitus for over 1 year. I got it from taking Plaquenil. The past month my ears have been blocked (probably from swimming) and the doctor wants me to use flonase to unblock them. I am hesitant to use it because I am afraid it will make the tinnitus worse. I am wondering if anyone used flonase and did it change the tinnitus?

I know flonase is used to treat tinnitus and there is negative/positive reactions.

My treatment with the flonase is NOT TO TREAT THE TINNITUS. It's to treat my blocked ears.

Thank you,
Lucy

I also use it as needed, also have allergies. Did not have any effect on me other than clear my nasal passages. Maybe try small inhalation to see effect on you, each person may be a little different. Hope you feel better soon. Take care, Daniel

So today I went to the ENT and he said my nasal cavity is blocked. My hearing is fine except for the high pitched sounds that I couldn't hear because that's what my ringing sounds like. He said flonase will help with the blockage. Has anyone had any success with flonase?

Hi Hurtingdream,
It should help clear your sinuses .
Any problem with it I would pop in see your doctor...lots of love glynis

Every time I use Flonase my tinnitus gets louder each day I use it. I keep thinking that it must be in my head so I go back and use it again until it is ridiculously loud. Does anyone know why this is? I can take other sprays and it doesn't bother me.

Similar/ I used Nasacort for nearly 3 months straight, in the sinus cavity as well as trying to get it into the Eustachian Tubes. Did not make my T worse.

Flonase is typical prescribed to help keep your sinuous cavity's clear and reduce the effects of allergies. After using over a period of 6 months there was no change either positive or negative on Tinnitus levels.
