Friend of Mine's Tinnitus Went Away After Two Months on Its Own

A friend of mine had tinnitus which obviously distressed her a lot. It went away after two months on its own.

Hasn't come back in two years now.

What was the cause of her tinnitus? Did she try any treatments?

It just appeared, she went to ENT who told her nothing could be done and about two months later her tinnitus had gone away. I know her and all her family. Her sister was recalling how distressed she was today.

I don't want to ask her questions because she's over it and I don't want her to go back there... I wouldn't want to discuss it if I were her... It was nearly 2 years ago.

What is this nonsense? Of course she is back to normal.

She isn't back to normal because if she carries on like a normal person (e.g., goes to concerts or loud restaurants, doesn't make sure not to take ototoxic drugs, etc.) there is a good chance that her tinnitus will be back.

Normal. It is called temporary tinnitus. It lasts between a day to a couple of months.
