Loud noise
I think the Guinness Book of World Records should have a record for the loudest tinnitus. I'm pretty sure I would be a contender. I know that as far as medical problems go, there are far worse things I could have, but that doesn't seem to make it tinnitus any more tolerable.

If only there was a way to measure it lol. Also don't feel bad about having tinnitus and not cancer. I'd rather die than keep living with this shit so yeah it's pretty brutal.

Well the manager of the bowling alley across the street knocked on my door and asked me to turn off whatever was making that high-pitched squealing noise because his customers can't hear the bowling pins being knocked down. And then caretaker of the cemetery said he'd received complaints from ghosts awakened from their eternal rest.

Seriously, though, it's just kind of weird that no one else can hear it

If only they could, they'd have some freakin' incentive to find a damn cure!!!

What things? Mine is extremely loud too.

I don't know any other way to express the severity but rate it in numerical terms. It's almost always 9 or 10/10 in severity except for short periods in which I might say it's 8/10. I describe it as 'ramping down' or the tones not being as crazy or 'fast.'

But, I consider it as severe and loud all the time. Distractions are constantly needed but impossible to have 24/7. Also, it has to be sufficient distractions.
