Hi there!

3 months ago I got a bloody head tinnitus (very high pitched), probably from stress.
It still keeps me from sleeping and gives me anxiety. My life suddenly changes completely.

- What actions can I take? I thought about Yoga and Cranio Sacral Therapy.

- I think the most important thing is the mindset, I'm trying to listen to that noise and telling myself I'm not in danger, and everything is ok. But it's not that easy.

- Can head tinnitus fade? Has it faded for anyone? I still can't imagine to have that forever and not being able to sleep etc...

Thank you!

Hi there
I would think about deep relaxation and meditation.
Not easy to start with, but with practice I believe you can drift off into s meditational doze, even though the Tinnitus persists.
I practice this each morning in s lovely warm bath.
I ask my tummy to take over my breathing for me and can usually achieve a meditational dose.

I have tinnitus predominantly in my left ear. Occasionally I get it in the head too and also suffer with anxiety and depression.

Sometimes it's a high pitch, other times a. Huuuuuummmm like somebody is hoovering next door. I know when I can hear the head tinnitus it always changes to less intrusive noises.

I would suggest stay busy and not focus on it and over time it will become something manageable to live with.

SironK....same thing happened to me, sudden changes, out of now where after stress, bamm!!!.... keep going forward..

Hi,

I doubt that your T is from stress (I've never seen any study showing any causality between stress and T). It is probably from an underlying condition that could be temporary or permanent. I suggest you use this flowchart to find the root cause: https://www.tinnitusresearch.net/index.php/for-clinicians/diagnostic-flowchart

You can do yoga or craniosacral therapy or pray or acupuncture, but I wouldn't expect much from it other than perhaps some relaxation and some placebo effect (which I am not thumbing my nose at - it's the best effect!).

It can fade naturally too, but if you know the root cause, you're better equipped to deal with it. Some root causes are actually fixable, so it'd be a shame to forego this option.

Hi!

I thought that stress might be one of the main causes of tinnitus?

Before I got that tinnitus I was struggling with insomnia and anxiety in bed.
I had a cold and did not sleep well for some nights, then at one evening my girlfriend wanted to tell me something and suddenly my ear did a peeep and now it's in my head.

I'm suffering from depression, insomnia and anxiety since then.
If I had a good sleep (almost never since 3 months) I can say it is quieter. And it gets louder during the day, peaking at nighttime, giving me no sleep.

I'm looking for psychological help, might give some ADs for mood and sleep a go?
I hope I might just need to break that loop, but well, it's hard to tell what was first. I had no depression before, but it's so depressing not to sleep!

The other possibility would be that I had a short sudden hearing loss. But can't really tell.

I've seen two or three stories where stress was the major cause of tinnitus, but I think it's rare.

In both cases, they had the tinnitus disappear in a couple of months - I'll dig out the stories (they were both from a facebook group I've since left) and PM them to you.

Most of the time, I think it'd be caused by another reason and exacerbated by stress.

Have you had your ears checked for wax and a hearing test?

Yep ears have been checked, they seem to be ok.
I've banged my head about 10 months ago and had some tinnitus after that, but it went away after a few days.

Interesting. Is this tinnitus different to that one in terms of sound?

In the two cases where the stress caused tinnitus and it went away, both cases resolved after/when the sufferer went away on holiday, away from the stressors of their life. I'm not suggesting a weekend break is going to make the T go away, but do you have a stressful day-to-day existence?

I mean the sound comes from inside my head, not my ears.

I can't really remember, it was just for some seconds, but I think it sounded similar. It went away after a few seconds and came back for a few seconds for a few days. I was not afraid.

My job is not very stressful, I just stressed too much about it during the time of the onset.
I was very exhausted and then the peep came in one ear, after that my head started to ring.

Now the Tinnitus is the biggest stressor, I can't sleep and lost all of my inner peace. Having too high pulse all the time, if I lie in bed my heart beats fast and I can't sleep.

My father had stress related tinnitus for several years, but it went away completely. At least he thinks it was stress related

I have tinnitus for unknown reasons but stress also seems to be one of the possible causes in my case. It appeared out of nowhere during a very stressful time in my life :(.

I wouldn't describe my tinnitus as "head tinnitus" though. I definitely hear it ONLY in my left ear.

What is head T? If you are getting a different noise in each ear, is it considered head T? Mine starts out as different noise (left ear is higher pitch while the right ear has more of a hiss), however when it becomes loud, the T becomes a pure high pitch tone (same tone in each ear).
