Hearing Protection and Tinnitus: Keep The Tiny Hair Cells Safe — Discuss!

Hi @Deamon22, thank you for your message. I tried foam earplugs already but I don't find them very comfortable, and it's not very easy to talk with them. I also find that they're not very easy to insert properly :/ So I hope those custom plugs would offer me more convenience ^^
Yeah, talking can be a bit challenging and you also get a closed off feeling. But I never found them uncomfortable. Inserting them is really easy if you practice it a few times. And on the plus side they are nearly invisible :D

But if you have no problem with the fitting of custom earplugs then go with them. Should be enough for most daily activities :)

I currently use 20 dB for pretty much everything; classes, nights out, cafes/restaurants etc.

And foam ones for the gym and noisy places (but never too noisy, like concerts, as you said).

I used to use 25 dB, but found it hard to understand my teachers in classes, so lowered the SNR level about two years ago.
Hi @Damocles. I wanted to ask you, when you wear 25 dB customer plugs with a filter, can you hear a person next to you without them having to raise their voice? In a situation such as walking in a busy street together, for example. Thank you for your time.
