Hello, Feel a Need to Talk

Thanks, Michael, i have taken the decision to go see a pro to talk to about those issues. I'll take my appointment tomorrow.

Apart from that, still not doing so great today. T is not that much of a bother, but my right ear more or less partially "unplugged" itself today after days of feeling underwater.
I feel like i'm hearing many things amplificated, i don't know how to explain it but it's causing me a new kind of fear and slight pain when i hear some sounds.

Because of that, i can't even watch tv so even though T is quite, i hear it again. I feel like i'm in a new loop of despair.

You are experiencing Hyperacusis @flobo which is the result of noise trauma to your auditory system. I have explained this in my articles which I've given to you. The only professional that I believe can help you is a: Hearing Therapist or Audiologist, who is trained in the management and treatment of tinnitus and hyperacusis. Most of these people also have tinnitus. They were either born with it or acquired it at some time in their life. In my opinion, these are the people that can help you through talk therapy (counselling) to give you some reassurance. Seeing anyone else that doesn't have tinnitus I don't think will be much good to you because, they don't have any experience with tinnitus or hyperacusis.

Thank you, Michael.
I knew it was that, i had read the article. I just didn't want to admit it by saying the word. I have an hard enough time dealing the T and now this.

I'm sorry, it was stupid, but i'm just even more terrified.

Please tell me it's been only a week since the event, there's still a chance it can improve on its own right ?

The only thing remotely linked to this in my area is an institute who speak about doing tests and sound therapy.

I can't find any audilogist nearbye.

My god, one mistake, 30 minutes, and i'm going to pay all my life.

I don't think i'm strong like you people, i can't do it.

I advise you to talk to your GP/family doctor and get something prescribed to help your stress and anxiety. Usually your GP should be able to refer you to a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist for tinnitus counselling. In my opinion, there is no point in seeing someone unless they have experience in tinnitus because they cannot advise you on how to cope with it.

The advice that I have given in my article is all you need. In addition to this some of the helpful advice from people on this forum is also good. You will not get better help than this. However, one to one help with someone trained in Tinnitus management will also be good for you. Things will improve but it takes time. If your doctor suggests trying a mild antidepressant then I advise that you take it.

I want to take a second to point out that a few members have been helping me in private conversations.

I still have a terrible time coping with all of this, but the great people of this place have so far been a great mental help.

Private converstations with members or corresponding with someone (that has tinnitus) will usually have a beneficial effect because they have experience of tinnitus.
