Tinnitus Since
2007
I was a really hard time to deal with my tinnitus. More sad, the
tinnitus is still with my ears.
I got my tinnitus in 2007 when I just graduated form my university. So
far, I do not know how tinnitus came to me. At the beginning of my
tinnitus, It was a disaster to me, like, someone was playing drum and a
train was runing in my ears! I could not work or sleep everyday. After
a long time's cure with Chineses traditional and western medicine, my
tinnitus was still strong. I went to different hospitals in my city
Zhengzhou(Capital city of Henan Province,China), my doctors helped me
very little about the tinnitus. They all told me that tinnitus is a
very hard disease to cure, even USA ENt doctors cured it difficultly.
However, I adapted myself with this bothersome friend.
I want to know, any friends in USA or some other developed countries
have some advises for me , like the medicine you are using, any
exercise I should do. Please help me.
Thank you myfriends.

Hi Arnold

welcome to tinnitus talk!

sorry you are struggling with Tinnitus like the rest of us

we are all looking for a cure and would be happy to just find medicine that would help half way

i have found that clonazepam can help decrease anxiety and even decrease the loudness of my tinnitus maybe by half some days

i also take magnesium 500mg per day and ginko biloba but im not sure if this works

some days are better and some days are worse and usually i dont know why

i very much recommend exercise to decrease anxiety

when i am physically tired from hard work or exercise my ears ring less

i have been told that acupuncture and hypnosis and counseling can help

it is very important not to listen to your tinnitus...do everything you can to distract yourself

listen to calm music at a low volume

good luck to you

Arnold, if you try the clonazepam, remember it is habit forming (like addiction but different)

here is my experience...by the way im not a doctor and not a medical professional so dont accept what im saying without talking to your doctor, ok? be careful

keep the dose low , half milligram to 1 milligram, maximum a day ) ...try to get by on just half a milligram (0.5mg) a day

after a week or two try not to take clonazepam every day

see if by keeping busy with hobbies or exercise you can get by for a day without medication

use clonazepam only when you are in a very bad spot

do not mix with alcohol or other drugs that act like clonazepam (GABA agonists or GABA like drugs)

dont use clonazepam to try to eliminate your tinnitus ! ! !

use it to just lower the volume a little and decrease your anxiety response to tinnitus

i believe you will get better...try to lower your stress
