Lot's of doom and gloom here, and I know my tinnitus is not even to a level I'd consider moderate, maybe acute now, but I know this might help some of you, to see an every day guy and his dealings with it, and what helps him.

It really is just about accepting it and calming your central nervous system down. It works. It's pretty much the principles that Jastreboff first outlined, and yet I know his name is not considered in high regard around here.

Relax your thoughts towards tinnitus and your tinnitus will start to back off and leave you alone. There are many ways to reach this utopia, but most importantly it takes time and patience to get there.

Yeah I see a lot of people here who are freaking it, and while I do not know how bad their T is, they don't seem to be able to calm down which is sad to me, I of course am new to it, and still clinging to the hope that it will go away (However detremental that is to me habituating) so while I am nervous, it doesn't particularly bother me as much.

I think over looking into it and reading only horror stories really had me on edge, and made it 10 times worse.

Put it this way, mines no walk in the park as I've already gone from a mild T to where I am now. I have a 12.5khz ish really shrill dentist drill tone, a 6khz drone like tone, and various shades of hissing noises. My brain and ears all contain noises, and sometimes I get zaps, or electrical like sensations that spontaneously erupt around my head. I have no clue what is considered severe, because of the subjective nature of the beast. None of us know what anyone else is hearing. One mans moderate tone may be considered lethal by someone else, and another's mild sound might be considered more moderate by others.

It's ultimately a perception though, so if we are stressed or specifically focussing on it it will seem way louder.

Yeah and right now, thats my biggest fear, I don't even imagine i'd consider mine moderate, at first the tone was pretty loud and constant, but I no longer hear the tone, unless of course i plug my ears in the shower, and even now that tone doesn't happen anymore. But the fact that even though mine is going down, but could end up like yours (no offense) is what probably scares me, and most of the new people who have it the most.
