Hi,

I've been posting here since a few days and i wanted to introduce myself:

James, 29y old. I live in Toulouse, France. I'm a web developer.

I've had tinnitus since a very long time, more than 10 years but i could only hear it before going to sleep. Ive always protected my ears as i'm a musician and it's well known in the music scene to protect your ears.

Unfortunately, two months ago, an old guitar amp malfunctionned when i was turning the knobs on it and sent a very high pitch hiss, my left ear wasn't far away from it. The same day, the fire alarm went off at the University where i work.

No sign of tinnitus right away but four days later, i noticed this high pitch whistle in my left ear. I took the combo cortisone and vasodilatator but with no effect.

The tinnitus i have doesn't really bother me to go to sleep but i can hear it most of the day. It especially bothers me while watching tv or while i'm on the phone.

I still hope it will subside in a few months.

Hi James, good to meet you. I think there's an excellent chance you'll stop noticing it within a couple of months. If you can, keep doing what you love doing.
