Cause of Tinnitus
Stress or ETD issues
Hi everyone. I'm a 39 old female who has tinnitus for about 6 weeks now.
I live in the Netherlands and I am married and have 2 children ages 6 and 5.
I'm currently in the hospital treated for depression and anxiety.
I don 't know how I've got the T. It's either from my severe stress and depression or from ET issues that also started at the time.

I would Like to come in contact with someone who is about my age and in the same situation. Preferable a woman also with children. Like a pen pall in hard times.
I'll hope my english is understandable for it is not my native language.
Hope to hear from you!

Ohhh Lynne78....there are probably many sufferers on here who don't "fit" your wishes but could help you

High stress, depression and anxiety can maintain T as the brain sees it as a "danger" or "threat" and puts the body on "high alert" which in turn increases stress and anxiety

Happy "not" to help... ;)

@Lynne78
Welcome to TT and sorry you had to join us here.
I know the anguish of the early days of tinnitus. I found myself in a psych hospital as well for 4 weeks.
I am 15 months in and doing better now.
I'm also 39 and have 3 children, a 3 year old and 15 month old twins.
Have the hospital helped you with medication?
How are you doing now?
Sam.

O no. Everybody can help. I'm very grateful for al the help I can get.
How do I teach my brain not to see it as a danger. I'm really scared of it.

Hi Lynne,
So sorry to hear about your predicament. I have only been a member of this forum for a few days. But have already found a huge amount of wise words and excellent support here. I am 37 and have has T for 4 months now, I have a 6 year old and a 5 month old, this stuff is understandably tricky without the extra stress of a family to contend with. At one point, in early July I was diagnosed with PND, just before my T started. it felt like life was crumbling around me with the anxiety too. It was a horrible and very dark time. I felt like I would never get any peace ever again! But, today has been a good day! I have felt chilled and relaxed, took my son to school and went on to a music baby group with my 5 month old. My T was / is still there but by doing stuff I felt so much better about it. You are ultimately in control of your mood, even tho it may not feel like it at the moment! Do things everyday (even for a short time, that please you and only you) reading a magazine, going for a walk, a coffee, anything!!!! I'm sure that this will help, even if you are distracted for a few seconds I hope that this will provide some relief!! Today, even though my T was loudish at times, at the baby group I only gave it my attention a few times, and came out feeling as if I had enjoyed myself! A couple of months ago I would have never thought this possible.
Hang in there sweetie, we will get there!

A positive attiude is always the best. I hope I can get one to.

Hi Lynne, hope that you are having a good / alright /passable day today?

Hi ClaireP

Still in the psyc ward in the hospital.
It's really difficult to stay positive because of my severe depression and anxiety and suicidal thoughts. This was difficult even before the T.
Still scared to take anti depressants.
They think the depression might be hormonal and they want to put me in temporary menopause.
Real heavy sh*t. Hope I'll live through
This. Thanks for your reaction
