Cause of Tinnitus
Infection in the ear
Hello, I have had tinnitus since last year. It started with ear pain. I when to the hospital and they said that i had liquid in my ear. The ear pain stopped. But then came tinnitus.

I have read that tinnitus should go away after the infection is cleared. I do not know if I still have this infection it is very unlikely because it has been a year and I do not feel like I have an infection.

I know that there is no cure for tinnitus. But I also know that this particular way of tinnitus can go away. Can someone explain.

Does it take time to heal like years or is it unendurable. Please I am 14 I need help.

Hi Leanardo,
I would have your ears checked again and a upto date hearing test.
If you have allergies or sinus problems they need checking out also .
Love glynis

Ear infections are common ways, that people get tinnitus. It may not heal/go way but being young gives you lots of time to adjust to it and still live a good life. You are young and have a lifetime ahead of you. Just make sure to not listen to loud music and avoid loud places if possible.

Your tinnitus can get much worst, if your ears are abused.

Be well....

It is not unendurable.

For many people it becomes incredibly acute, and suffering can be intense. For others it can be almost debilitating. Also, I expect that people have different abilities to "tough it out."

Make no mistake, it's a different life than you'd have without tinnitus. But it's not unendurable, no. You've got people who will need your love and your care as you get older, and you will be able to give that, even if your tinnitus is acute.

But as others have said, you're young. There's very good hope for your tinnitus to clear up. See a doctor about it.

I would resume the treatment of the ears. I do not think that you are completely healed. Your Eustachian tubes, which get clogged during such an infection, may be the culprit. They must be open all the way, to ensure a good ventilation of the middle ear.
See the doctor to look at you ear drums, to see if they are retracted (bulged in) or not. If they are, it's not good, that means that the pressure in the middle ear is not equal to the pressure on the outside of the eardrum. A tympanogram test may be useful.
The E tubes can be healed through the nose.
I would try at home a nasal spray.

How you were treated for your infection a year ago?
