Loud noise exposure / headphone accident maybe?
The title says it.
I am asking this because yesterday I went to a bar for 45 minutes, with my custom plugs with -15 dB filters. It wad actually quite calm at first and after 20 minutes they put on some music. But certainly not very loud. I doubt it was ever more than 95 dB. When I left I heard an increase. It settled a bit but not completely.

It's been almost 3 months since my initial exposure so thought something like this would be okay..
On the other hand I drank quite some alcohol before as well.

Could the increase be a result of that?

How will I ever know what is okay?

Could something like this be permanent?

I'd personally use stronger filters for loud music, but I think you'll be fine Jurgen. Like I said in the chat, I've literally lost count of the times I found myself in your position. Alcohol always makes my T louder regardless of noise, and my T just changes each day anyway. I'm habituated now so I don't really listen anymore; it just goes right past my emotional consciousness to care, so it has no impact and I hardly hear it nowadays. It's only when I'm talking or writing about it like now, that I kind of acknowledge it's there.

@JurgenG
You are still in the early stages of tinnitus onset and I believe you should carry on as you are doing. Try doing everything that you want to and enjoy life and not focus too much on the tinnitus. I know it isn't easy but with time things will continue to improve.

If it's only been three months shouldn't he be protecting his hearing regardless, the chances of it going down like mine are still there maybe, i've had mine for around 43 days and it has been going down every day now.

@JurgenG ,
I think its the drinking that spiked your tinnitus .
Glad you had ear protection on around loud music..
Hope next time it will be better and your ears more happy.....
Lots of love glynis

@grotulon @JurgenG circumstances, tinnitus and hypercusis are completely different from yours. He is right to be using ear proctection if he feels he needs it. However, I agree that he should be careful not to become dependent on using ear protection, as the auditory system could become hypersensitive.

I think I may have some form of hyper acusis, I am sitting to the right of my computer, if I tilt my head, it's almost as if I can hear an electrical sound when my ear is facing it, strange.

That doesn't sound like hyperacusis to me @grotulon. Hypercusis is sensitivity to sound. If you had it believe me you would know. The washing up of kitchen plates and cutlery and sound uncovertable to the ears. Road traffic noise and be uncomfortable too. Most normal everyday sounds can cause irritation to the auditory system. Please read my post: Hyperacusis, As Isee It click on my Avatar and choose "started threads", it's in the list.

I wonder what it is then, because when my ear is facing my computer it definitely has an effect.

Again thanks for all the great comments.
Anyone know if certain supplements can spike T?
Last couple of days I was averaging around 10 kinds of supplement a day..
NAC, Mag, Zinc, VIT B, Ginkgo, Nicotinamide riboside, Pterostilbene, R-Lipoic Acid, Acetyl-l-Carnitine, Astaxanthin.

I've been taking them because I heard there is also something as delayed nerve damage. And wanted to counter any nerve deterioration.

Update: huge drop in T. I noticed it this morning once I woke up, after a few minutes it starts ramping up.
Not today! :rockingbanana:
Either way, might be temporary. But chance this is related to my army of supplements. So I am quiting them all.
