I Had 12 Hours of Quiet Bliss

I've had what I would say is a minor case of tinnitus since 2018. What I mean is I knew I had it but for most of the time it didn't really bother me.

About 10 days ago, however, I ran into some really loud noise that I couldn't avoid. And 10 days ago but the ringing in my head became a really high pitch whine 24 hours a day and the worst thing is it became very difficult to fall asleep.

But yesterday I was running around doing some errands and in the afternoon and in the evening I said I thought wow, I can barely hear any tinnitus.

I went to sleep and woke up about 6 am with bad tinnitus back.

What is going on?

What is going on?

What was the noise? How loud and for how long?

Perhaps it's just a spike. Spikes can include different and new tones and not just an increase in volume of your usual tone. I know plenty of people had spikes following a loud noise exposure in it eventually goes back down. I'm sure that will happen for you. Keep the faith.

The noise came from my house burglar alarm, and I lost the code to turn it off, so I stood in front of this rock-concert loud burglar alarm for several minutes before I final ripped it from the wall. But the damage was done.
