I Invented a Sound That Knocked Out My Tinnitus

@R. David Case I decided to give it a try following your protocol. Just a question, my tinnitus fluctuates and currently I have some good days (usually 4 good days) and some bad (usually 4) days where it is very intrusive above everything.

Would you suggest I should start your treatment when I'm having a good or bad day?
It should not matter, you can do a test run on a very low tinnitus day and then use all night every night for 3 weeks or sooner if tinnitus leaves.

Tinnitus is a little bit lower today. There have been many covariances, including a very good heart to heart with my psychologist and a renewed sense of purpose working on my personal website.

The sound is a bit lower today though and somewhat... hissier. So at least things have moved in the right direction. When I plug up, it's almost wooshy on my left side. This is good. I can deal with woosh.

That's good, are you sleeping all night every night with it playing on the Koss headphones?

My tinnitus is more stable just now. Definitely a bit of habituation, but the tinnitus is definitely more stable (as in, the pitch). I didn't manage to listen to the Tinnitus Mix for most of the weekend though, just once yesterday.

Glad your tinnitus is more stable but it doesn't really help if you're not listening to the Tinnitus Mix.

Anyone else trying it out properly and getting positive results?

My tinnitus is recent (last November) but as he continues to progress in the right direction i'm afraid it's getting worse with the Mix.
It was very hard at the beginning and I have already tried so many things and visited so many bad ENTs.

I have 3 sort of tinnitus:
- constant high pitched (14kHz);
- mid 2,4kHz (this one is now much softer since one month);
- pulsatile sound with very far sawmill sounds (softer too).

What did not work:
B12, CBD, Ginkgo, Liu wei di huang wan, Mullein Garlic Ear Drops, Apple cider vinegar.

What reduces my tinnitus:
- Earplugs before sleeping reduce considerably the mid 2,4kHz tinnitus;
- stopping coffee and alcohol;
- ACRN is quite good but strangely this generator is more effective: https://mynoise.net/NoiseMachines/neuromodulationTonesGenerator.php (I listen 30 minutes before going to bed and the mid tone is softened);
- better sleep, less anxiety.

What reduces my anxiety and improve my sleep:
- magnesium cure;
- melatonin (very good results);
- Hypericum (also very good results against depression due to tinnitus).

I just received my Koss KSC75.
I have already started last night so here are my impressions:

- Night 1: Complicated to falling asleep because of the headband and the Koss. The sound is creepy and I woke up many times.
- day 1: the mid tone is louder (on a scale of 100, before the Mix it was 30, now it is 40).
On the first day in November, my tinnitus was 70 so I have the courage and the curiosity to continue a few more days.

Reduce volume, it is harsh at first, thanks for posting, we know it works on sound induced and sudden unexplained tinnitus which you do not have but we are curious if it will work on conditions like yours.

Thank you for your advice David and also your efforts here.
I just changed my profile because I'm sure now that the cause of my tinnitus was not TMJ (not the same symptoms at all). So I think I have the required profile to enjoy the Tinnitus Mix with some hopes for results.

Night 2: I wake up several times during the night and I did not sleep enough (5 hours). This must be due to the discomfort of the Koss.

Day 2: The mid tone is lower as before starting the Tinnitus Mix (on a scale of 100, before the Tinnitus Mix it was 30, now it is 20).

But the high tone is louder (on a scale of 100, before the Mix it was 20, now it is 40). The high tone is much less annoying than the mid.

These variations can be induced by lack of sleep and I'm ready to continue by reducing the volume as indicated by David.

You should cut a hole in a cheap foam pillow and the Koss will fit right in the hole and you won't even know you have headphones on. Also I got these cushions for the Koss. I sleep like a baby with the Koss.

Is your head tinnitus still gone from Tinnitus Mix? Will you get a chance to do full 3 weeks of Tinnitus Mix?
Well it came back a few times but I will definitely try your Tinnitus Mix again in the future but only when I have 3 weeks off work to get the best results.
Thanks for asking.

Maybe I can burn a CD from your Tinnitus Mix if I can figure it out? I have some CD-R discs. My computer tray says RW on it.

I'm not sure what to do really as a tinnitus clinic person said to wear WNG's like for 10 hours a day. He said to wear them like you wear your glasses. Anything that gives me relief I'm willing to try.

@R. David Case, I pulled my laptop off it's stand with my Koss headphones, so I was going to try your CD with a small player. I think most of them have a repeat button.
Yes, most do but check before you get one, I use the Sony UX-560 digital recorder, it's small and I just put it in a shirt pocket.

Yes, I am finding many are misdiagnosed.

Ok, I will try the replacement earpads.

Night 3: I'm not awake during the night... sleep ok
Day 3: No big change mid tone: 30 / high tone: 40.
Before the Tinnitus Mix mid tone: 30 / high tone: 20.

Keep it up for three weeks and don't skip a night and I hope it helps you like the 440 others.
Thanks for your support, I hope it will help.

Night 3: woke up 1 time during the night... sleep ok.

Day 3: mid tone: 30 / high tone: 40.
I notice very slight fluctuations for mid tone.
It's a little less continuous. Let me call it mosquito effect = 5%.

Before the Tinnitus Mix mid tone: 30 / high tone: 20.

You have had tinnitus since 2008 so it could take a few weeks to knock it out.

I don't see how anyone could keep the headphones on while listening to your Tinnitus Mix, unless you are sleeping in a coffin. I toss and turn too much.

It's really easy when you use the SleepPhones headband and put the speakers in, I had zero problems and I change positions a lot during the night.
So then do you swap out the speakers from your Koss head phones? Or are the one's in the SleepPhones adequate? My static dissipated after about an hour. I put my hearing aids/maskers in. Or it may just be an awakening nasty static noise I have to deal with every morning.
