Not sure how one can compare fun for a couple of hours with say a 1% chance of a lifetime of suffering due to debilitating T, and choose to take that "calculated" risk.

Its not going to put off many people with 1% risk or 10% risk. Chances of getting lung cancer though smoking is around 15% but that doesn't put people entirely off. If no one took risks in life then no one would drink, smoke or take drugs as thee vices less so for drinking can have adverse long terms effects on health

How many people think it's okay to smoke? Even smokers admit they are taking a risk. But, those who have or had cancer would probably warn smokers to quit or potential smokers not to start. It's only after you have the affliction that you issue the warning and advise someone not to take the risk. When they are saying the T is torture or hell, I think it's wise to listen to them.

Disappointed in the replies in this thread. I was hoping people would be able to give me any kind of advice instead of telling me I have hearing loss.
Hey, if you feel that you don't have any hearing loss, then great. It's just that it has been pretty much determined that T is the result of some type of hearing loss. Maybe a hearing loss that you don't realize. Bravo for you! I wish I didn't realize my hearing loss. Mine is total, so count yourself lucky. Anyway, on the premise that your T is indeed cause by some kind of hearing loss (even if you dont feel it) the people in here are simply trying to help you avoid increasing your problem by going to music concerts or whatever. If you were convinced accurately that T IS caused by hearing loss, (I am), then you might be more careful about the environment you subject yourself to in the future.

I wonder if this person disregarded our advice and went to the concert.
