The reason I'm mentioning it is somewhat anecdotal but it does tie in with my own research into a limbic relevance to T.
My tinnitus is only in one ear (the right one) and my other ear is fine. I can calibrate the actual level of my tinnitus by playing a tone of the same frequency to my good ear till it matches it's loudness, and both ears are in balance. It's level 37 on my volume slider.
After a recent health scare (testicular cancer) my T went through the roof, my thoughts at the time were it had reached at least 80 or 90 in loudness and I could hear it even in noisy environments.
So I went to re-calibrate it's loudness....I nearly fell off my seat: it was still 37. The next day I even drove home in my dinner hour (a 45 minute trip) to do it again; still 37.
Four days of this and 9 tests later 35 - 37.
Then I got my all clear from the docs and I didn't even think or notice tinnitus for a week, when I did notice it I tried again: 37 was the result.
Maybe you do get small fluctuations in loudness due to Potassium or Sodium levels in the blood but it's the caring about it which gets you anxious about it.
