Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I'm 3 weeks in.

From reading the other threads, there is so much that is recommended not to take or eat etc. So now I'm paranoid.

I went back to the doctor and he prescribed Cetirizine. I was wondering if it was OK to take?

I also have an ENT appt tomorrow. I really don't want to hear the "you have to learn to live with it" speech. But hoping they can figure something out for me. This is a very annoying and scary thing to go through. I wish it was gone already.

Thank you everyone. You are all so knowledgeable.

Depends how you got it. It'll likely do nothing.

If it's noise or random, get them to prescribe cerebral vascular dilators, some antivirals, and a course of Prednisone. Cross your fingers it works.

@Vanessa Yanez, welcome to Tinnitus Talk.

Cetirizine is an antihistamine for allergies.

It can reduce tinnitus for some people with Meniere's Disease on a 15mg dose.

Glynis

I have a question. I am taking a trip to Alabama in June. They have beautiful green areas and tree and mountains.

But last time I was there I had really bad allergies. First time ever. This was years ago.

I've had tinnitus for 1 month. Will having allergies make the tinnitus worse? I'm nervous now about going but I have already made the plans.

If it's too risky I definitely will not go. Just hoping to get some feedback.

Hopefully, your tinnitus will go away, but if you still have it by June I would be very cautious.

I take Singulair (Montelukast) for my allergies. I have been on it for years with no problems.

I hope you get well soon.
