Is Debrox Considered a Safe Way to Remove Ear Wax? My GP Told Me to Use It for a Week

My GP told me to use Debrox for a week to loosen and help remove wax build-up in my ears. He said both ears have a lot of wax in them, which makes me hopeful that maybe wax is the cause of my tinnitus.

At the same time I've read people who say Debrox and wax removal made their tinnitus worse. Any and all input would be appreciated.
