Is It True That Some People's Tinnitus Go Away?

I'm 3 months in and I'm pretty sure my T is here to stay.

I've actually just come back from getting some custom plugs fitted and the audiologist said she has never seen anyone's go

But, I still have a little bit of hope ... Miraculous things can happen

Hey there. I would like to know if your T is gone. I am on my 6th month. Just wondering you know if mine will go away eventually.

If you read back through the thread, you'll see: some cases disappear, some don't. Depends, in part, what caused it. Tinnitus that's a result of taking a drug or a sinus infection or a condition like TMJ MAY go away once you stop taking the drug or the infection clears up or you fix the condition.

One thing that most people agree on is the longer you have your tinnitus, the more likely its yours to keep. But there have been cases -- not common, but it does happen -- of people's tinnitus vanishing after they've had it for years.

My somatic tinnitus disappeared after 5 and a half months.

I had a loud piercing tinnitus for a year after a high pitch 105 Db tone which I could not hear went off near my exposed ear. It basically disappeared one day though loud machinery distort my hearing for a bit before resetting to normal.
