Is My Tinnitus Fading?

I had two hours of pretty much silence when I woke this morning, the ringing was there very faintly but I was in a quiet bedroom and had to plug my ears to hear it. It's increasing in volume and pitch now but feels like when you are trying to tune an old fashioned radio in with a dial, screechy one second quiet the next.
You will eventually be cured. Otherwise, it ought to stabilize at that quiet level.

Yes, I'm avoiding loud noises and taking ear plugs with me wherever I go. I still hear it today it's just much quieter than it has been, maybe 2/10 now compared to 9/10 last week

For most of yesterday the ringing element either disappeared or was very faint and what I heard was a very low hiss which was much quieter. In the evening I had spells of pretty much silence or it was reduced to about 1/10. A bit louder again today and the ringing is drifting back in and out

If T does fade away would a lesser acoustic trauma potentially bring it back? What level of sound would be dangerous if you do manage to recover from T? For example would a busy restaurant be enough to start it off again or would it have to be something very loud like a concert or a band?

Had a few days where it seemed quieter and less high pitched and it tricked me into thinking it was going and now it's back louder than ever. Sad, scared and living on my nerves.

The daily fluctuations will always be there, are normal, and should be ignored. What matters is the monthly trend - the change in the Global Low compared to a month or two ago. You have had T for less than a month, and had already experienced it being quiet. This is huge. Chances are that it will keep fading, and the global lows will keep getting quieter.

It just does this, the recovery is none linear most of the time. Whilst its there even in the tiniest amount its really easy for it flare up. It doesn't take much of an increase to make it seem way louder especially when you have had periods of relative quiet. The important thing is tomorrow will be another day and probably your T will be totally different, at least this is how it is for me. You just need to rest your ears and be really careful.

It did for me.

It's impossible to say. It varies between individuals (and likely within the same individual depending on the current state of the body.) Avoid or protect yourself from situations where you need to raise your voice in order to be heard. Stress can have a real impact, too. Move on but be safe.

So there you go proves how stupid Audiologists and ENTs are. It is absolutely scary to think that they treat people.
@dpdx I share your pain. My tinnitus was very habitual at the onset and after a visit to an IDIOT Audiologist who absolutely reassured me Microsuction was the safest form of wax removal, became unbearable with hypercausis thrown in. The twats are clueless and disinterested in the outcome! Wish I'd left my ears alone. Hope things somehow improve for you x

Did you do an audiogram after that?

@dpdx Is that a hearing test? If so, yes. There's no obvious issues with hearing loss despite that first horrid Audiologist telling me my heating wasn't great!!

When I had mild T I had perfect hearing
When I did the vemp test In January, I lost of 20db of my hearing, and T increased severly.

It's awful @dpdx how we are not made aware of those risks! Totally enrages me, we just have to accept & get on with it!!!!

I lost 20db of my hearing because of these people. My ENT told me it will be better if I dont come back to her for some time after I told her that it got worse. She then told me to get money and do TRT that it will help me. Disgusting!

They honestly don't have a clue! I tried Trt... didn't really help! I'm enraged how these incompetent people can get away with this!!!!

CBT and TRT wont help. My T is just way too loud to focus, concentrate, sleep, etc or do anything.
