So my tinnitus just came randomly one night when I was trying to sleep in my right ear but is now in both ears.

Less than a month before that I hit my head pretty hard by accident and I could possibly of had a concussion but I never had it checked because I didn't think anything of it. Now recently my ears have been aching and feeling like they are full of air.

Also I have a runny nose and a burning sensation in my nose. Do you think my tinnitus is related to those symptoms and will go away with treatment for a possible ear infection/sinus infection or do you think they are completely unrelated and I'm stuck with the tinnitus?

The tinnitus isn't constant either it comes and goes at different times of the day being loudest when I'm in a quiet room.

Also the tinnitus started about a week or so before I started getting these ear ache symptoms too so all of this is happening in a short time frame. That is why I'm hoping the tinnitus isn't permanent and can be stopped.

If I were to make heads or tail of your symptoms, sounds a lot like ETD. I sure hope it is. Try decongestants and allergy meds.

Hi @Musicforever .

I am not a doctor, and everyone experiences tinnitus differently. So, with the disclaimers out of the way...

It depends. For some (it seems that I am in this list) it is. But for many it is not.

@Bill Bauer wrote the following post discussing studies that show a fairly high recovery rate from tinnitus ( https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/spontaneous-recovery-stats-over-70-recover-3-studies.21441/ )

So, according to those studies, it seems that you have a better chance of getting through this.

But, some of your other symptoms are a little concerning. I am guessing you have seen a doctor already, if you have not, please see one soon.

If you find yourself in the position of your tinnitus not going away, remember that we are here for you. We understand what you are going through and are willing to help. You will always have someone to talk to who understands what you are going through. So, hang in there. It will get better, one way or another.

You never know, what will happen...when it comes to tinnitus. Possibly see an ENT and see what they say. Your tinnitus is in the early stages, so do your best to protect ears and avoid loud sounds/places.

Reducing your stress is also beneficial, when it comes to tinnitus as well....Take care
