It's Me, emmalee

All joking aside, I enjoyed every single one of your articles Michael. They are well written and extremely helpful. No need to try to do better, not at all.

Thank you for your kind comments @emmalee they are much appreciated and I sincerely mean that. Some of the articles on my started threads, take many hours to write until I get a feeling the words are flowing. At times my tinnitus can be quite intense and it interrupts with this.

Take care
Michael

Ditto what @emmalee said.
The time you take to help those of us in need is much appreciated by me and I am sure many.
Keep it up Chief !

Luring in the shadows @Michael Leigh :blackalien:...but coping better ( learning to live with ) with my new friends T and H thanks to all you kind folk.
Nice to meet you Kelvin.

I lurked for a long time before joining this forum. In the end I decided to make an account, thinking that I had nothing to lose by putting myself out there. Best decision ever. I have come a long way with the support of many others who find themselves in the same situation.

@emmalee
Where do i start without complaining.
Have been going (twice) to acupuncture for my sciatica and need another session but cant afford it this weekend. Therefore work for me on Monday has been put on hold.

My T is quiet today and im thanking my higher power for that.
I have been fighting the good fight with it.
Saw my Psychiatrist on Thursday and started an AD SSRI for mood and generalized anxiety disorder.
So far so good but its early on.

Group is going well and i look forward to it each week as it validates my thoughts and feelings.

Got my truck repaired on Wednesday but it left me broke.

So all in all just life has been going on mine included.
Thank you so much for asking about me as i guess i have not posted lately.
I have although kept abreast of the TT threads and developments.

I am praying you are ok today as that is all we ever have.
One day at a time.
Courage and peace to you.:)

I am glad you replied, David. I did notice that you had gone quiet. This is perfectly fine, sometimes a break is well needed in order to focus on our other life challenges.

You are not complaining, David. I sought you out and asked how you were doing, you are only being honest and this is a good thing.

You have much going on, this goes without saying. I will send positive thoughts your way my friend.:huganimation:

@emmalee
Iwas a little down and i came upon your song post and yes it really did lift me up.
I was doing better a while ago but my sciatica started again and i have been pretty much bed bound outside of going for acupuncture sessions.
I think i got your positive wishes you sent as my T was silent all last weekend. :)
Emma you have become a strong positive force here on TT and again i will say thank you.
Peace and courage to you.

You are very kind, David. Thanks for always speaking so highly of me, you make me feel better more often than you know.

Peace and courage to you, David.:huganimation:

@David Dubros

I saw you mention you have a truck. May I ask what kind?

I've got an '02 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab. She's getting to the point in life where repairs are a part of life but I love that truck. Rust is becoming an issue as well. It's a diesel which is great for mileage and power but I don't recommend it for people with t. I wear 30 db nrr ear muffs when driving. I'm not sure I'll ever drive that truck again without them. Some people dream of muscle cars as a kid I dreamed of a diesel pickup.

@emmalee wow. Humble and Kind is my favorite song. Posted it in the country music thread a while ago. I love the video.

I just posted this song Stand Back Up. I relate the lyrics to living with tinnitus and also having been treated terribly by a so called ahem... internet tinnitus "professional" who called me an "embittered hag" along with using the worst guilt trip about the loss of my friend - just to hurt me.

The lyrics in this song are absolutely relatable, Starthrower. Jennifer Nettles has one of the best voices out there, in my opinion. Thanks for sharing it. Listening to music can be such a great way to escape our struggles.

Why would someone say something so hurtful to another? I am shocked to hear this, Starthrower. :huganimation:

There will always be people in your life who treat you wrong, be sure to thank them for making you strong~

Wow... i also have a Dodge.
Its a 2008 Dakota 4 door crew cab.
I just had a coil and sparks done.
Its been good to me so far.
Like you i always wanted a truck.

@David Dubros

I like the crew cab. It's a tight fit in the back seat of my truck. I have a half door not a true door. A smaller crew cab may be in my future as I don't use my truck for work often. Once you have a pickup it's tough not to have one.

Just saying hi, and hoping you're in a string of "good days!" Really enjoy following this thread and the people contributing to it.

Hi back, Mystery Reader, it's so nice to hear from you.

This week was a challenge, if I am to be honest, but things are beginning to get back on track. Once this heat and humidity comes to an end, I will enjoy getting out and walking more than I have been.

I found out this week that my tinnitus is the result of hearing loss. A hearing aid is in my future, something that I wasn't expecting and it upset me some, but I am in a better place tonight. Tomorrow is a new day.

I hope all is well with you, Mystery Reader.

@emmalee so good to see you!! Hearing aids are so invisible now!! You will do just fine. You may want to get a second opinion on the particular aid and cost and reason.

@David Dubros I love trucks also.

Hello, Starthrower, It is always good to see you!:huganimation:

I have been researching hearing aids almost non-stop since the appointment this past Monday. The doctor suggested that I take some time and digest all of this and then call the office for a consult with the Audioligist. A second opinion is a very wise suggestion, I will take your advice.

@emmalee
It's true -- hearing aids are quite discreet now! Let us know what you decide. I hope the days ahead are less challenging for you than the ones that have preceded.

I went for my walk even though it was drizzling, it is still warm and humid. Once again I took my camera, I am looking for Alex, the neighborhood's favorite cat. He is an icon. Totally deaf and 15 years old and the kindest, gentlest creature on earth ( at least on my tiny corner of earth.) He eluded me again, I am beginning to fear the worst.

quoting myself....

A happy day!!! I found Alex!

I was walking by his house and there he was, sound asleep in his driveway, curled up tight and cozy. He is completely deaf so I approached him and very softly touched his ear, this startled him some and he jumped up a little too quickly. His eyes were still half closed. After he calmed some, I managed to get a few photos.

@emmalee I love that you found Alex. I remember when my dog Case lost his hearing I sort of made up a type of language by physical reactions to communicate with him. Not sure it would be the same with cats...

This is for you and @TracyJS. I know the forum is a new place for you. Just always trust your gut instinct. You know that inner feeling when reading posts or PMs that make you feel.....I don't know the word but it is uncomfortable in one way yet you feel obligated.

We have so few sources to turn to in the tinnitus world. I remember being so lost and being drawn into the support world because it was all there was back then. And it is pretty much the same now.

I am glad to read your replies and responses from both of you. It is so easy to feel sucked into the drama of "sides" and for whatever reason it is still the same as it was back in 2002 for me.

Never doubt your gut instinct.

Hi, Starthrower, I am so happy to hear from you!

I was beginning to give up hope of seeing Alex again, so you can imagine what a lift it was to see him sleeping so soundly in the sun. Made my day, this is for sure.

Thank-you for the advice, I understand exactly and believe me, I will listen to my gut instincts.:huganimation:

I read all about "Starthrowers" yesterday. I see why you chose this as a username.
