I've Had Enough. Seeing How I Feel at End of Day, Then Checking Out

I've sought out 7 or 8 doctors at this point. Ents, therapists, psychiatrists, etc.. They don't care. None helped me really at all. In fact...many misguided me. One attempted to call the ringing a psychotic event, like voices in one head. They don't fn care. None of them do.

Yeah doctors sucks. I haven't run into any doctors that have good knowledge about T either. But yeah, that just means that I had to pick myself up and move on. So I did. Like you wrote in a post as an answer to someone else, you still don't want to use hearing aid. That is one of the major issues. Don't say they don't help or don't care when you are the only person that can do something for yourself and actually get help (aka hearing aid)

I am actually getting really tired of your . I get that you want help, but if you are unable to even help yourself, no one else will ever be "good enough" for you. I won't answer your posts anymore, it is just like talking to a wall.
I can't wrap my head around how shallow you are, refusing to use hearing aids of vanity or of principal reasons. Yet still complaining endlessly and wanting to die and the whole world is against you and we should all feel sooooooo very bad for you because you are a victim of this and that. You're not. You are acting like a child. If vanity and your principals against hearing aids are more important and your rather die, I won't be the one to stop you.
I hope you don't but I am sure that not even this text will even reach your brain.

Hope you feel better someday.

It will. I am going to attempt the laser therapy thing, I was just asking people if it helps or works. If I get impression it can help, then maybe I will try that. After that...I will go the hearing aid route I guess...sigh.

I just want to know if laser therapy can help. The high powered ones like the lucky laser

I understand though if you don't want to respond anymore to me. I don't like what inturned into either. This isn't me anymore.

Anyways, to just ask my question again, does anyone know if lasers would help at this point?

Glad to see you've changed your mind about the hearing aid, your finally getting your head together keep it up Jd.

As far as the Laser goes it's a sore subject here on TT.Every story is anecdotal with no real scientific data or placebo trials to back it up so you just have to take these stories as they are and that's purely anecdotal.I hugely believed that this was just one big scam for a long time but that was until a friend of mine had results are receiving a LLLT treatment which at least has made me somewhat a little less sceptical of it.

Jdjd09,
Great to hear your going try a hearing aid and Lazer therapy....stay positive....lots of love glynis

@glynis Sorry Glynis! Just had to have some fun with your blazer therapy typo above! (Though I see you've fixed it, but since I just spent four minutes of my life making this collage, I'm going to post it anyway! We need to have a humor break here!!! :) :) :)

And @jdjd09 Glad to see that you are feeling a little better today. I, for one, am going to stick with you. Support is support, and feelings don't just change quickly on demand (but ... they DO change ... and YOU will get around to changing too ... in a good way ... meaning: learning to grow and cope better through this ... and I did say "through" this ... because this current state of grief will not last forever ... there IS a time when you will come to feel better, by degrees, maybe, but definitely BETTER. UNLESS ... you put on one of these blazers ... THAT will NOT help your situation!!! :) :) :) It WOULD detract any attention away from a hearing aide, for sure!)

Ah, jdjd09, you're gonna be okay. Keep truckin' ...

@jdjd09, I would recommend giving Julian Cowan Hill an email. He is a qualified psychotherapist based on London and does Skype sessions. He had tinnitus himself for 16 years and is nearly deaf in one ear.
Julian is an experienced practitioner (specialising in treating clients with T) and an incredibly kind, caring and well meaning therapist. Best of all, he will understand what you're going through. He will help you get through this rough patch I'm sure. He will also give you heaps of awesome things to help cope while you habituate.

Hey @jdjd09: Much discussion on TT re. low level laser light therapy. Here is one extensive thread:

https://www.tinnitustalk.com/threads/low-level-laser-therapy-lllt-for-tinnitus-—-efficacy-debate.7650/page-18#post-105838

As @bill 112 said, there is nothing concrete that proves it works. At least you would be trying something, as long as you don't mind losing the money if there are no results.

The hearing aid is a much better idea. Think you will be surprised how much it helps.
Good luck.

The thread is just too long and too much infighting honestly. To the point of it being unhelpful (not your post, the thread). I tried reading through it before and couldn't really get much from it.

I guess that is why I ask here is all. Unless you see some good pist s in the thread on people who got results months after having hearing loss or T (not those that started right away)?

I'll be honest. I habituated in the past to this, too the point I forgot I had it or it was even a problem. That was before this incident....

Im possibly calmer because I do have an exit plan if I have to take it...and it's with stuff you can easily buy, it's pretty quick, and not very painful...not saying on here not to break rules. Not saying I will act on it...but it's there as this life has been aweful.

I need an exit strategy in case.

I may reach out to him though. May I ask how much he charges?

I was disappointed. I emailed Julian Cowan Hill and he ignored me. Maybe because I said I could not get to London and could not Skype. But offered to pay for email or phone consults.

@jdjd09 this forum is kind of psychotherapy. But what you're doing is like a vicious circle.
Posting again and again and again about the same issues.
We understand your suffering and want to help you, but you don't take the advice and get yourself a hearing aid.
Furthermore you should visit a psychotherapist frequently and autogenic training would be a good choice in your case.

Instead of following the advice you come here and open new threads where your pour out your despair.
You are a sensitive person who needs help, no question.
But please follow the advice in previous posts instead of opening one thread after another.

While he's postin' he's not dyin'.

If the thread needs to go on, then it needs to go on, for now. Nudging someone past a crisis moment from the other ends of the world isn't perhaps as hard as we all thought. And Telis, stay. Sometimes the nice and the not so nice can have a synergy... like Good cop/Bad cop?

Can someone out there knowledgeable in research please just point me to something that I can do to get my hearing back? Anything? Some company you have inside information on that says they will have something our soon to gain hearing back.

Just anything. Please I'm desperate.

Also, yes, I'm going to try a hearing aid on this weekend.

Im desperate. Please just someone out there help me. If it's secret, I won't tell anyone...literally. I just need some hope please.

Dude... I know this can be hell but RELAX!!! Honestly, first thing you need to do is to reset your brain. First step: take a break from work, School or whatever obligation you have and go visit someone you trust and feel comfortable with (parents are usually the best candidates) step 2: go out of your house: either go out with friends and get drunk until you don't give a fuck or go jogging/running until you drop dead. Either way you need to get out ain order to let your mind wander off this Obsession. Step 3: follow step 2 AS often AS you can for the next days + make an appointment with your GP or better a Neurologist/psychiatrischen and explain the urgency of having something to take the edge off. Benzos are just fine for that. Trust me, AS soon as your brain capms down you will feel like a new Person.

AS for LLT: it's a scam, BS, nonsense... Forget about that.

Fella have you seen this:

Imagine that.

Honestly I get what you're saying, it's incredibly frustrating to go from being perfectly healthy to suddenly getting a condition that totally f#cks up yur way of life. I'm suffering from 4 of them at the same time. Imagine having Tinnitus, random pain, balance and motor control problems and something else I don't even want to mention (but you wouldn't probably even believe it was possible if I told you). Believe me every day I think this just isn't worth living anymore, when life is such a torment then really what's the point. I haven't found it yet but I'm desperately trying to find something I can now do that will bring meaning to my life.

I just mention this to point out that you're not suffering alone. I'm not gonna say sort yourself out or get a grip or something because believe me I know that that wouldn't help. What you're going through is hell, what I'm going through is hell. And like you all of these things that have happened to me are completely un-necessary, I was completely fine until I had a bad reaction to some painkillers and had some PTSD from an earlier event.

The good thing in your case though is that you are only facing one enemy, and it's quite a common enemy at that. Get yourself some hearing aides, forget all that vanity shit - you may even find that they help you attract women if that's what you're thinking of. At least then they will know that you are bravely fighting a problem.

Also, yes, I'm going to try a hearing aid on this weekend.
Patience. I found that I needed to road-test it and make adjustments before I started to trust it. Everyone does as there is no one-size-fits-all with this.

I hope it helps you. Until you can move past this bargaining stage you are in you will struggle with this cycle of counter-productive thinking. Just remember with Benzos if you go there: everyone's issues aren't everyone else's issues. For some of us they were/are essential equipment. you mightn't like the idea of using them, but you're not liking how things are now either.

You will not like it right away most likely. And no offense, but you especially won't like it because you have a habit of finding only the negative in things.

But if you give it a chance and wear it for a few weeks you will get used to it.

Or maybe it feel great when you first put one on, who knows. But typically they require a few adjustments over time.

@Michael2013 , why would I not like them?

What positives are there to be found in my situation I guess? I went from being very productive person studying for a CS degree while working in finance to someone seriously considering killing himself (I have a method to do it now that won't require too much effort or thought/fear), being bad at my job I was once ok at, and wondering if I'll ever finish my degree or be able to think ever again.

Seriously though, can someone please just give me a link to a cure for hearing loss somewhere? Anything? Can you PM me? I just want to know of something coming out in the next 5-10 years. Or less, anything.

Working in finance and studying CS is a full-on workload. Perhaps you need to scale back a bit for a while? Having said that, it's good to keep busy.

I have no problem with you coming back here to express your feelings. This is a tough time for you and you need support and someone to understand what you're going through.
