Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

Just back from device pickup. I tried the device for a few minutes to test it, tinnitus was a little elevated after it but quickly returned to normal, I'm pretty sure it's the white noise component that did that as I've found white noise does affect me that way anyway.

I will post over in the User Experiences thread today or tomorrow once I've had a chance to try it.

Not sure where the right place to ask is and I imagine it's already been mentioned somewhere, but anyone thinking of attending this who either lives near or fancies a trip to Arizona? It has a very brief talk from Dr. Hubert Lim.

47th ANNUAL SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNOLOGY MEETING
March 5 - 7, 2020
Scottsdale, Arizona

SATURDAY, MARCH 7, 2020
"10:55 AM – 11:15 AM, Combined Sound and Trigeminal Nerve (Tongue) Stimulation to Treat Tinnitus
Hubert Lim, PhD, University of Minnesota, and Neuromod Devices Limited, Minneapolis, MN"

I'm still in Ireland, and I hate writing long texts on my phone, but I just wanted to let you know that I got accepted for the treatment.

I go back on the 26th to pick up my device. Right now I'm in a restaurant in the Liffey Valley shopping center. Celebrating with a meal + dessert.

Unfortunately this country doesn't like my Visa... I had to pay everything with my MasterCard so far.

I live in Scottsdale AZ. I looked at the registration price for the conference and it is pricey. About $400 for non-members. Probably need a registration name tag to get into these presentations.

I would certainly go to this if the cost was a little less.

You can't pay with Visa? Even at Neuromod? I only own a Visa Card...

I can't wait!

Lenire works for some.
It is the only way out at the moment.
Yes it's expensive, yes it could be a risk.
I'm ready to take the risk. I have nothing to lose. All or nothing.
This condition has destroyed my life. I have a THI of 65.
It took my life, and raped it from behind.

Just a pity that they don't tell who is going to profit the most. They must have the data.
So how did your trip work out?

May I ask you what hotel did you choose? I'm thinking about taking a hotel near the clinic or near the airport? Recommendations in general are welcome (I forgot to bookmark the postings regarding this subject in this thread :().

As there are no news from Hannover I decided to go with my appointment on April 30th in Dublin. Anyone else from Tinnitus Talk with the same date?

For those traveling to Dublin I would also suggest the Free Now app for taxi service. It is similar to Lyft or Uber in the United States. The two times I've been there I have used taxi's to get around and the app works well. You just request the taxi in the app and they will pick you up at your location. I also didn't have any problems with them picking me back up at Hermitage. You just have to sign up for an account and input your credit card. Your driver gets paid through the app and you don't have to worry about cash.

Abigail's and Gardiner are good cheap practical choices.

When did you first sign up? I signed up January 6 and have an April 7 opening.

So El Buzz... did ya drink a **ckload of Guiness? I'll be there on the 20th so I'll do my first appointment then head to the nearest Guinness pouring pub.
I haven't been there to visit Neuromod premises yet but I used to travel A LOT to Ireland. I don't like Dublin at all, it's a completely different place to any other in the country. Easy to have the wrong impression if you only stay there. Dublin is not Ireland. Best pub IMHO is O'Donoghue's.

And by the way... Guinness sucks. Try Murphys stout or Beamish. Smithwick's is another superior beer. Then hit the last nail with a naggin of Powers or Paddy.

By the way guys, there was something I forgot to mention in my post in the Lenire User Experiences & Reviews thread.

When I was meeting the Neuromod audiologist, she mentioned that a lot of people have questions like "Does it matter how long you had tinnitus?" "Does your age matter?" "Does loudness matter?" etc and she admitted that they do not actually know this, they are just finding out about it now. When I said that I'm prepared to use Lenire for 4-5 months, she said that I should be aiming more for 6-12 months. So it seems they are really looking at the long term prospect of it now.

Just thought I'd mention this, it might be useful to someone.

Interesting. They must have a lot of high quality data now. Took me only a few days to do the analysis on our (in comparison) very small data set! And I'm doing this part time...!

Wow mixed reviews... Paul in the Lenire User Experiences thread had worsening :-(
That's an understatement. His story sounds eerily similar to Allan1967. Yes, I'm gonna mention it again because this time it can't be blamed on some coincidental external event. We should all pay very close attention to his progress going forward. Crossing my fingers for him.

I wanted to try Lenire in Hannover. They haven't signed me up yet. But I'm increasingly worried when I read the latest experience.

Neuromod is concealing frequent worsening of tinnitus?

I did an AirBnb by the clinic before the assessment and the hotel nearby for the fitting. The trip to and from the airport weren't that bad ~25 min, but I rented a car.

Paul took a risk, like everyone who is taking the treatment. I hope the bad trend reverts soon for him.

Neuromod gains a lot of knowledge through the early adopters. The least they could do is release the bloody academic paper, or at least a working paper version of it. This way the risks their clients take would be more justified and informed. Instead we are asked 2.500 EUR plus travel etc for a treatment with no published methodology yet.

With all due respect, Peter, I think you could give us a preview on how things are starting to look like about the data you are harvesting.

Waiting until April means more people could risk a worsening similar to that of @Paul Betteridge if the data reveals there is a good chance of that happening.

Maybe the results are still too mixed but I guess lots of us waiting to collect our device would feel thankful for a brief headline.

Thanks for your work and efforts by the way :).

Exactly. Where is Neuromod's published trial? It was around October 2018 when they said they were about to submit for peer review.

Hello El Buzz,

We only have 17 completed 12 week surveys to date, which is a pretty small sample and any results would not be very reliable.

However, we do have information on dropout rates, which might be of use at this stage.

We had 24 who signed-up and who should have completed by now. However, only 17 have got to the 12 week stage.

Here is the breakdown:
