Lenire — Bimodal Stimulation Treatment by Neuromod

But I don't understand why there should be a difference between the trial and real life. If they thought it would work on all kinds of tinnitus, why exclude people with 8+kHz tinnitus from trial... I just don't understand that.
Mine was around 14 kHz, I think. My brain has purged almost all my memory of this horrid condition.

Do you guys think we can share that video on twitter or do you think we should wait until Neuromod posts about it first?
Where did it come from? I would be VERY cautious not to share something if it was meant to be private in order for them to not lose trust with us or if it could jeopardize the review process.

These things only affected my tinnitus perception temporarily. Salt and diet would only impact pulsatile, which I don't have. Anything that alters your mood will of course have an impact on your tinnitus perception. So yes.
I'm hoping this device wipes out my tinnitus permanently. I need my weed back.

Super neat how it continues to work after treatment!

@Mathew Gould I also want my weed back, and music career.
I don't want to get too ahead of myself, considering we all know how hard this journey has been. But I'd completely given up on my music career and was considering finally selling my drumset last week... it would be pretty neat if we got a second chance! :)

I would urge people to reach for the stars for this, but keep your feet firmly on the ground in terms of expectations.

Can you imagine if at the 6 week mark there's been no change? Then no change at the 12 week mark? That's not to say you might need longer, but keep grounded people.

Hope is great and it's what we need but keep your head.

Recently I've read a great scifi book set in the near future, in which certain currently incurable illnesses (such as Alzheimer's) finally received cures. But the cures were often not broad-based, but worked only for some subtypes of these illnesses. They called this the "heavenly minefield": if your condition belonged to the right subtype (you accidentally stepped on a "mine"), you were cured. Otherwise, you had to wait and hope for further discoveries.

I expect to see a similar dynamic here. We can't know in advance who will be able to get relief, and how much. May Lenire's "minefield" be vast and thick and may many of us step onto these "mines".

PS. The book is Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge.

Because I've had this for a very very long time. I've been participating and reading this thread and it's been very up and down. Just trying to find the hope in between it all
21 years is a long time. I've had this for 4 months and it got LOUD a few months in, now quieting down. I pray it fades away...

Does tinnitus affect your career and lifestyle a lot at this point? What treatments have you tried in the past 21 years?

I don't see Lenire or University of Michigan devices as a cure for most but if it can significantly reduce tinnitus loudness and symptoms it's the first real treatment that works.

I thought Allan's post on this was very apt. It's really exciting stuff and definitely reason to hope, but it won't work on everyone at the moment.

That is not to say that it won't work for everyone once it's been refined in future. They have already found ways to improve it, imagine what a few more years will look like.

No, not really. I have a desk job and there is white noise in most offices :) I haven't tried any treatments, I am always told to put up with it so I have. It's very loud and intrusive at times but I persevere! I have hearing loss too which does interfere in social life but most people are understanding.

I'm not wishing time away, buuuuuuuuuut ya know, HURRY UP

On Facebook, I came across one of the people from the Lenire testimonials, the Ronnie guy, and he is still playing in his band at weddings etc... hope he is wearing plugs!

Does anyone else check this forum multiple times a day waiting for an update. I wish I could not check it for 2 years and come back to tons of good news.

Realistically that's probably how long it's going to be before it's fully available to anyone in the United States without having to travel halfway around the world. But who knows, I guess at least there is a bit of hope.

Sorry to hear about the hearing loss but glad to see it hardly affects work! That's great. Do you still go to bars and clubs or are those definite no's because they would spike your tinnitus?
