Now that these threads are not notified in news feed members rarely find them.

Why are they not notified in news feed?? Since when? No wonder I keep missing some good stuff around here!
Bummer!

How are you doing Jaz??

Hi OUT
YES - I asked Markku why that was because I think it is a shame.
He explained to me that anything posted in the forum
OFF TOPIC / GENERAL CHAT - will no longer be notified in the news feed.

The notifications only come up now for things like research news, and all that boring old stuff.
I never read all that stuff which constantly goes round and round in circles, encouraging people to become 'cliff-hangers.'
If there is ever a cure or a treatment it will be on the National News - you won't have to search for it.

I suspect you are rather like me, you lovely social butterfly, preferring the more personal touch.
I hope this place stays friendly and chatty with a good vibe to it.
By the way, you can always alert me to a post of yours by using the (@) prefix.
As in @OnceUponaTime ,
Cheers

@OnceUponaTime - if you want to check the more sociable posts;

* Click on the forums tab,
* Go down to Off Topic / General Chat,
* Then look down the list for:

''Tinnitus Truths"
"Love in Words and Pictures" etc....

These threads ARE included in the news feeds, and also in the latest posts / threads section on the sidebar of the front page.

Jazzer is right that everything under the "General Chat" category was not included in those sections for like two years because we thought it's best to only include strictly tinnitus/hyperacusis/etc related topics there.

But because Jazzer showed us the light about a month and a half ago, and because we're such cool people who listen to our members' wishes, I changed the settings so that also topics under General Chat are visible. This has been the case for more than a month now.

@threefirefour can attest to this! ;)

Yes, that's me!!!!
I do read on the new stuff and treatments to stay informed and comment here and there but that's about it.

I suppose that when we do get a "real breakthrough", Markku will blasted on the front page in giant red bold letters.... So I wont miss anything...lol

Cheers!!

My daughter Jackie dished up a great breakfast for Father's Day of pancakes with bacon strawberries blueberries and maple syrup.

She gave me this card which I couldn't really argue with......xx
