Hi everyone,

Please can you complete our tinnitus survey? It should take less than 10 minutes.

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/tinnitushubsurvey1

We're running it throughout Tinnitus Awareness Week with the aim of getting several thousand responses. We are going to be analysing it and so are the Tinnitus Research Initiative, so this is a great opportunity to make your voice heard.

We're looking for patterns in different tinnitus types, what helps people and what doesn't, and what other hidden conditions might be associated. With enough people taking part we can gather some excellent data that not only can help us out but that researchers can use it too.

We'll be presenting the results at the Tinnitus Research Initiative conference in March, where we have a table for the exhibition. Many of the top tinnitus researchers will be there so we want to show them the value of understanding us patients better.

Thank you to everybody that's completed the survey.

We've just passed 2000 responses!

It's pretty impressive to get this many so quickly. We are still running it throughout the rest of Tinnitus Awareness Week so who knows how many we'll end up with at the end.

I've completed the survey, but I felt the questions were too broad. I think anyone that is really suffering would have been prepared to spend longer filling in a questionnaire and hopefully obtain more information. This is not meant as a criticism, just as feedback.

Done thanks!

Will you post the results?
Yes. We're going to put everything up once it's been analysed, probably in a few weeks at most. I'm going to write an article on it so it'll be on TT before that. As soon as it closed we'll be able to give a few insights.

Hi Owen. It's a tricky line because we want to maximise the number of responses but we also want some new insights. Think of this as something that will tease out some patterns that we can explore further, seed research as it's sometimes called. We can then follow up and get really in-depth on exploring the more interesting parts.

Unfortunately not too many people are like you, many will get bored with a long survey and not complete. One of the goals for me was to also capture those who aren't necessarily suffering as well as the group that are, so that we have some comparisons.

Totally open to any criticism though. We tested it before it went out but it isn't until it goes out en-masse that some things get teased out as areas to improve on.

We're closing the survey tomorrow.

Anybody who hasn't already, please fill it in, takes less than 10 minutes.

Currently stand at 4,846 responses, it will be nice to top the 5k mark.

We'll be looking at it this weekend, will publish the full results here with some analysis. As we get deeper into it we'll add more.
