My Posting Place

But, the fact of the matter is this, they started trying to find a cure for alzheimers with that gamma secretase inhibitor but then they realized that it can regrow mammalian ear hair cells. There are now at least two new companies "racing" to cure us. This is good.

I understand you, this is like being on a horrible trip everyday, like you said, some CIA mind control torture shit. Just be strong. We may get our lives back sooner than later. I know its cliche at this point but just try your best to distract yourself and find some kind of life until that time comes. I love all of you.
By god I hope you're right. But my HL (>8khz on an audiogram; <8khz is 10-20 dbhl across frequencies for me) isn't even recognized by the medical profession, although it certainly affects my life tremendously by causing severe tinnitus and loss of fidelity for music. Even if FX succeeds I don't know that they'd be willing give me the treatment, nor honestly that it would help me considering that I'm stone deaf above 14 khz, and that's where my tinnitus frequency is. I just don't know. Seems out of reach.
Anyways thank you for the kind words. Love right back atcha.

Concerning higher frequencies:

http://www.illustratedcuriosity.com/health/health-medicine/ly411575-a-drug-that-restores-hearing/

"The mice were then tested again and were actually able to hear, and were especially good at hearing high frequencies."

Ly411575 mentioned in above article is a component of fx322 that's passed phase 1 FDA clinical trials

Patent info for fx322

https://patents.google.com/patent/US9968615B2/en

"The specific drugs used in the assay above are agents that help drive differentiation. Non-limiting examples of the specific drugs used in the assay above include gamma secretase inhibitors (e.g., DAPT or LY411575), Wnt activators/GSK3 inhibitors (e.g., Wnt3a, R-spondin, CHIR99021, GSK3 inhibitor XXII, AZD1080, etc), antibodies, peptides, siRNA, or a combination thereof."

AND if this cures tinnitus, then it WILL be FDA approved for use for it. The corporation will push for this because it expands their market. It has passed the in-human safety study so it wont be restricted to only those with profound hearing loss.

So please stop worrying about how these dark age audiologists handle your audiograms. Im probably more up to date on this technology than many of quack doctors out there if not most and when/if fx 322 is released the ones administering it will be trained on its use for tinnitus.

I have very high pitch hearing loss and my T sounds like a electromagnetic dog whistle and and I can still hear everything else just fine.

From what ive researched, I thing fx 322 will make our hearing almost if not totally perfect.

So they are saying they don't know why type II been desensitized?

i'm just assuming it would usually have to do with hearing damage.

Are the type II's themselves damaged?

Tinnitus is a stupid name for this condition.

Tin= metal tin.
Itis= inflammation.

What am i the damn tin man oil can oil can?

If it was inflammation then anti inflammatory drugs would fix this.

It should be called Phantom Auditory Perception Syndrome.

Who is man in bottom right?
Pawell Jastreboff. He's famous for inventing TRT. Lately he's been opposing tinnitus research, been spamming stupid studies to waste valuable research money, and pulling tactics like TDT to "rebrand" the dying TRT. He's basically everything wrong with the tinnitus research community, and is overall just a massive thorn in our sides.

I'm very much against large amounts of research money going towards TRT, but are Jastreboff & Co actually actively opposing research? How do you know that?
During the TRI, he gave a speech and basically told people to stop focusing on research because it gives false hope and slows the habituation process.

On another forum, I asked Dr. Nagler, who knows Jastreboff personally, if Jastreboff did this. He confirmed it, but apparently it's excusable because "he won't have any effect".

I don't like these TT trophies I keep getting (for likes and posts and stuff). They just keep reminding me how long I've had T already and how much it's interfering with my life...
Don't get me wrong this is an excellent website and many thanks to the admins.

Frequency is the archangel Gabriel but in the long run Decibel is actually God.
why? enlighten me, I know almost nothing about decibel therapeutics
Whoops, mistake. I'm sure Decibel is great too, but I actually meant Otonomy. They have what may possibly be a comprehensive portfolio of hearing disorder (HL, "Hidden HL", T, +) therapies in the pipeline. Haven't seen anything like it.

So yeah my bad I meant Otonomy is God. Or we can be polytheistic that's fine as well. ;)

Just go with it.

Decibel is a bio tech company dedicated to finding treatments for the many degenerative conditions that plague the inner ear. They have the best otological scientist on their team Charles Liberman who has spent his life studying the inner ear, and is at the cutting edge of it.

Frequency Therapeutics is not a hearing loss company they are focusing on activating certain cell types (progeintor cells) that exist throughout the body. Hearing loss is just their first application. They will also attempt muscle regeneration, eye sight within the future.

Both bio companies firms are very exciting
