I want to go to ENT school just to figure out how people could study the ear for years without learning jack shit about HEARING which is the primary function of the goddamn ear!!!

Also I have a question for you peeps. Why why why is my T, H and HL only seeming to get worse?? From what I've read most people's either improves or stays the same. But for me it's been seven months and my T is more shrill with more tones, my H is slightly worse, and my hearing definitely seems worse. Am I just just cursed with progressive worsening and loss from one night of acoustic trauma? Is that even possible? (It's way disproportionate to loss from normal aging anyways I'm in my twenties ffs.)
Any opinions? Really I guess we just don't know what causes these differences between people.
Over and out.

I went to the doctor today and told him I just started getting floaters

Welcome to hell. At least there's surgery that can successfully remove them (albeit a risky one).

If you're patient enough, the introduction of the new hypersonic vitrectomy surgical instrument will make the surgery much safer than it currently is in the coming years

How the f does tinnitis cause floaters.

It doesn't. There might be a common cause between the two (EG a fault in area of the brain that is responsible for tuning out things like floaters), or tinnitus has just made you a lot more anxious and sensitive to small things like this

guys I think it's time we strategize on how we can get MPP to grow rapidly to reach even higher heights,.

normie= cure tinnitus

MPPer=Raise awarness to researchers to find real therapeutics that show evidence of reducing the phantom perception of noise caused by hyperactive fusiform cell activity that occurs in both audiotory and non audiotory regions of the brain after the Dorsal cochlear nucleus fails receive auditory input from the 8th cranial nerve.

I remember back on r/tinnitus, one of the mods said a guy was like an anti-vaxxer because he was cure oriented like a normal person, and didn't agree with the whole habituation-based focus of r/tinnitus. Imagine having that much of a lack of self-reflection. Because considering that we know the science of tinnitus and tinnitus research, that's clearly not true. I remember earlier on MPP, Contrast got upset at me for wrongly using the word "Theory". Meanwhile everywhere else in the tinnitus community, even with the ATA and stuff, weird crap goes unchallenged.

We focus on science around here, but everywhere else in the tinnitus "world", there's tons of hippy bullshit, like focusing on anxiety or whatever the latest meme is. Nothing praticularly important about this rant, it just pisses me off when these people think we're the anti-scientific ones when the reality is the opposite.

They learn how to diagnose certain problems and then sell FDA approved drugs and devices. They are salesmen more so than actual physicians.

I am going to do a hearing test next month to see if my hearing recovered (Doubt it). I will grill my audiologist on the whole ear tests that caused me the 20db of hearing loss.

How did a hearing test cause hearing loss?

How did a hearing test cause hearing loss?

caloric test- ear irrigation, not loud, but caused the vibrations of the water hitting the eardrum can cause cochlea cell damage.
vemp test- 110db in volume, 2 minutes in duration (electrodes placed on face), it emitted a loud knocking sound like an MRI (almost same volume), week after that my T went from a 2 to a 10. Week after that went to the audiologist where, in comparison to my audiogram from October, hearing fell from 5db to 25db on 4khz, he said it was stress and anxiety that caused this. How the hell can somewone get hearing loss on 4khz from stress? Seems like noise induced hearing loss. I developed black eye floaters and then visual snow eventually. This is something I am battling alongside blasting tinnitus.

if you can prove this sue their ass.

Yup. She knows you can sue for serious cash.

She even yelled at me when we were in the office and said there is no way Caloric test can cause hyperacusis. The Vemp test was too short in duration to cause damage. I now suffer with severe t, hyperacusis, visual snow, and black eye floaters.
