theres no way I'll ever get into a clinical trial if I can still hear up to 14,000k in both ears and the right ear is that got hit noticably.

Probably in 6 years F-tx will be on the market and btw my tinnitus is almost completely gone but occasionally i get a tonal zap in my head.
6 years my ass. Trump is about to slap down the FDA.

@Contrast, you said your tinnitus is almost completely gone but occasionally you get a tonal zap in your head. Shouldnt you have more tinnitus than me since you have more hearing loss than me?

GABA levels are hypothesised by regulate the perceived volume of tinnitus.
it would explain why some deaf people don't have tinnitus

if my GABA were to drop my T would get louder if correct.

its a hypothesis i can't say the full picture is understood, probably truth too it IMO because benzo's reduce tinnitus.

I wonder if it is also influenced by how many GABA receptors a person has in their neurons. surely we express these things differently. if that were true then it may not matter if you increased GABA levels.

Friend: Damn I missed the train
Me: idgaf my head is a train

Haha... I agree.

Friend: blah,blah,blah... whatever
Me: "idgaf my head is a train"

Edit: I do have compassion and empathy for those who suffer unjustly. (And I know you do as well.) Actually I'm more compassionate and empathetic with T than without.

I'm going to post this here in our little corner of insanity on this site.

I think, given the recent discoveries in regenerating cochlear cells, that this is the most important thing that the community should be focusing on. I think that the ATA and the BTA should be asking the same questions that I am regarding natural notch inhibitors. This technology is the closest thing that we have thus far regarding a potential cure. Here are two facts:

1. Notch1 inhibition induces cochlear regeneration and restoration of hearing.
2. There are naturally occurring notch1 inhibitors.

Is there a chance that the cure is already among us?
Can we not pay some lab to investigate this?
Where are the authorities on this?

Is there something about my logic that is wrong here? Shouldn't we be flocking to these questions? Shouldn't this be the primary focus of research for the ATA and the BTA right now? There is zero dollars in it for big pharma because you can already readily obtain these things from vitamin stores so we sure as crap CANNOT expect the answer to come from them. Is this hypothesis unworthy of investigation? What other opportunity to find a cure for this horrible disease exists right now?

My opinion is that if you are involved with the treatment of tinnitus, and you aren't actively searching for a cure or promoting the people that are, then you're wasting valuable resources and are actually part of the problem and enemies of truth. I am actually infuriated that the BTA doesn't spend any of its funds on researching cures. To me, they are fundamentally wrong and have no business calling themselves a tinnitus association. I'm almost of the opinion that they know that if a cure is found, then they have no reason to exist and therefore will have to find new jobs, so they promote non-cures to make themselves indispensable. I'm researching a cure, on zero dollars, with a full time job, while being a family man, and I feel like I'm chasing a viable lead. What's their excuse?

Yes. Bingo. This. This. This.

They don't??

You mentioned a natural notch1 inhibitor being curcumin and/or tumeric?

(notcho dip with tumeric, notcho doctor's prescription, haha)

How much are you taking and how is that going?

trivia/fyi: "Curcumin is a naturally occurring chemical compound that is found in the spice turmeric. The two words are sometimes used interchangeably, but the technical difference between the two is that turmeric is the yellowish powder used to flavor foods, while curcumin is a chemical contained within turmeric." - wiki
