@Contrast is there any way to see if IHC are damaged? DPOAE work for OHC which is not right as 90% of IHC can be damaged but DPOAE cam make it seem hearing is fine due to OHC which amplify sound. I would imagine speech in noise and word recognition tests.

I just read this short paper but wow. This Liberman guy knows his sh*t like nobody's business.
Just this one teeny paper does more for me than every TRT session under the sun ever would. Jeez.
Well there's at least one researcher actually living in the twenty first century...
Jastreboff has trouble sleeping at night knowing this.

Yes, thank you!!

I'm no loon and neither are many of us.
Many of us are tortured beyond belief that is all.

I'm waiting for a lab to follow up on curcumin vs other gamma secretase inhibitors.
As far as I can tell from my research it is the same thing, but non toxic. It would certainly disrupt the current scientific industry.
A gram of ly411575 is about $15,480
A gram of curcumin is less than $0.50

30,000x less expensive.
Let that sink in.

We are within the narrow window of time in history where there are concerts and power tools to ruin our hearing, but no treatments to fix it. A century or two earlier or a century or two later and and this problem doesn't exist.

Except War. They've had guns and cannons for about 700 years.

I have thought the same. But didn't @JohnAdams and others quote "cures for tinnitus" from 1000 BC?

Between the Bronze Age and Iron Age. (?)

Blacksmiths?
Yeah. I shouldn't say it didn't exist. But it would be safe to assume it was significantly less prevalent.

but the mainstream public wasn't subjectting there noise to horribly loud sounds, imo were right in the midst of getting a treatment.

I just fully realized that if we want the most robust solution for the most cases of tinnitus, we do not need to fund a cure for tinnitus.
We need to fund a cure for hearing loss, including "hidden hearing loss".
I already knew very well that most T is caused by some type of HL, but I never quite thought of it in terms of the funding of the search for a cure for some reason.
