i'm not the conspiracy kind type of guy but you really have to wonder if the hearing aids industry will be willing to give up on hundred of billions just because some small research guys who raised what. 40M? somehow found a cure
just seems so ridiculous not to see more companies get into what would be not just potientially billions of dollars but also a new step in human history
curing (the biggest type of)hearing loss is objectively a really really big thing
how hasn't one of these old billionaire fucks given a few hundred millions to get that shit done
how much newborn blood are they drinking not to feel disabled enough to finance research

Another conspiracy could be 'they' buy the 40m research startup and sit on it.

What if that's what's happened to the other technologies that have been developed over the past several years to allegedly treat hearing loss? Patented and put on the shelf? Good thing to look into.

it's really the scale of it too that makes me crazy
40 millions is absolutly nothing
the UK(and UK only) cancer research foundation gets 800 million A YEAR
i realise comparing everything is just stupid and a lack of time but it really puts in perspective people's priorities
hopefully i'm just being a new year depressed retard and they had a seriously major scientific breakthrough but i've learned not to put too much hope in things after so many disappointments

Not everyone can be bought out. I believe there are competent people of high intelligence that will step up and change the industry if and when they are capable of doing so. Even if it's more work for less money, there are people who will value their contribution more than receiving money.

In the end, it's not what you get but what you give that counts.

yeah i hope people aren't trying to slow down progress. in the end we'll see i guess

by the way could you guys tell me if FX-322 is finishing its first or second trial phase?
i'm rather confused about it. from my limited understanding the FDA forces 3 trial phases? this is what they call their 2018 trial:
"This is a phase 1/2 single dose study of FX-322 compared to placebo in male and female adults otherwise healthy with stable sensorineural hearing loss."
what does 1/2 mean exactly

I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry I haven't been posting here a lot lately. Personal life and work life has gotten a bit crazy recently and I haven't had as much time to frequent here.

When it dies down I'll be back. I won't betray you guys like @threefirefour did! :p

phase I/II clinical trial
listen (fayz … KLIH-nih-kul TRY-ul)
A study that tests the safety, side effects, and best dose of a new treatment. Phase I/II clinical trials also test how well a certain type of cancer or other disease responds to a new treatment. In the phase II part of the clinical trial, patients usually receive the highest dose of treatment that did not cause harmful side effects in the phase I part of the clinical trial. Combining phases I and II may allow research questions to be answered more quickly or with fewer patients.

why haven't people at these 'tinnitus associations' looked into that spanish clinic or minbo shim for us?
John, the ATA and half these other "associations" are effectively AGAINST us, not for us. I'm calling for the ATA to be renamed FATSO: Fcking Anti Tinnitus-Sufferers Organization.

I know I know that's exactly your point.

"For the vast majority, tinnitus fades away. It's no big deal just buy TRT and ads on our site." SHIIT

And I fucking love you too @Manny and you @85dB T Fuck the ATA and the BTA and their bullshit agenda. We've only got each other. Someone will save us. They will.

You guys haven't had T long. I believe it is possible you will improve beyond your expectations with time. I hope so. But I'll miss you. It helps knowing we don't suffer alone. But if you can get better, this I prefer.

@85dB T if I get better there is no way in hell I will ever forget you and the other wonderful people here. Yes, we only know each other over the internet. Yet we are brothers in the most brutal suffering, and good brothers at that. Our bond is forged in torture and tears and it will not release.
