I'm not quitting activism, I'm just moving beyond the forum.

I can't wait till I get a new job so I can donate more to research.

The movie Vox Lux mentions tinnitus. It's about this singer who as a teenager survives a school shooting. After the shooting she's doing physical therapy and her doctor tells her "the other kids who survived have been complaining about the ringing in their ears from the gun blasts. We'll get the doctors to look into that."

I just kept think, what the hell are the doctors going to do. Recommend TRT?? Tell them to get used to it?

Gawd

Interesting film though

Did anyone else's hyperacushits start months after their tinnitus and hearing loss.

My HA and floaters seemed to have started at about the same time, roughly 3 months after my noise exposure.

The burning pain was very mild early november on onset then worsened in early December. It fluxated from Late January to June before finally making a turn for the better.

Maybe the recipe for a DIY haircell regenerating concoction is:

intermittently fast and take:

manitol (increases BLB permeability)
curcumin (Notch-1 inhibitor)
IGF-1 supplements (regenerates LGR5+ cells??)
7,8 DHF (BDNF mimicker)

You can buy all of these things.

that's the John Adams's hearing loss pill formula. Someone needs to try that. I can't tight now because I'm still in the window for my PRP treatment's recovery and I can't do two experiments at the same time.

Who made this? From the internet...View attachment 27840

A 3M spokeswoman declined to comment but emailed a written statement.

"3M has great respect for the brave men and women who protect us around the world," the statement read. "We have a long history of serving the U.S. military, and we continue to sell products, including safety products, to help our troops and support their missions. We are not commenting on specific litigation matters at this time."

O rly?
Then I guess 3M would proudly fund a cure for tinnitus???

Of course not. Neither will most of the vets who got paid off either.

No one cares unless we raise awareness.

I'm scared Contrast might be right about there not being a cure in many years. Did you read about the Alzheimer's drug? It was supposed to be the holy grail, but got terminated in phase 3 trials. Alzheimer's is similarly elusive as tinnitus... tinnitus and hearing loss is maybe even more elusive...

Can these all be taken orally? How much do they cost?
Yes all can be taken orally. For cost? You got to shop around. 7,8 dhf is cheap. curcumin is cheap, mannitol is used in cooking so probably cheap. The most expensive one would probably be IGF1 supplements.

They've successfully restored hearing in mammals, now whether HA and tinnitus will always be solved by that still remains a mystery. I wouldn't get down about it. There's a lot to be optimistic about.

We don't know how Decibel, Frequency and Otonomy and their drugs that claim to restore hearing will fair in a clinical trial, the next 5-10 years will be us observing how drugs that promise to regenerate hair cells, synapses and repair nerves fair in a clinical setting.

Let's just stay hopeful and donate to research and be vocal on the forum that we want help. Get the Veteran's communities involved, that's the ultimate goal if you want major support considering how they deal with hearing loss, tinnitus and hyperacusis like issues from warfare.

How do we enlist the help and rising of awareness from Vets when people are promising them a 'fix' for their T for free and some are gullible enough to take it?

Just keep calling out snake oil. Never stop.

didn't Hough Ear dude boi say injection approved in 2020?

Hey MPP,
Just wanted to say thanks. I don't have an ENT, or an audiologist where I live, and getting to one is a journey, i.e. going to a neighboring country, taking an overnight train, staying in hotels...takes cash ...etc.

So I just wanted to say thanks for all your input.

I spoke with my mom , who's a young 79, about putting a box of vitamins together and sending it to me..the John Adams DIY supplement menu, although 1 scared me a bit... prostate cancer - IGF-1... another discussion.

Yah, this illness has ripped me to pieces.

You guys and many other folks are a huge resource for me, and help me with my mental health...or more accurately unhealth as tinnitus and hyperacusis entered my life.

PS. I've written to the ATA... they never got back to me, and I will listen to Contrast and write politicians from my state, as well as military, as well as the White House, you never know....
