Laughter and maintaining a sense of humour is so important with this affliction.

Some false "therapies" are just so easy to laugh at because they're a complete joke, touted by academic rejects who didn't have the grades to do something meaningful.

But having said that, it's no joke when they steal funding away from research that could result in treatments that could actually help us.
Completely agree

I am pleased that you found something that helps you because we are all different and tinnitus is a learning curve. You are quite right, tinnitus counselling is Psychotherapy but please don't think this treatment cannot reduce the ringing because it can or at least one's perception of it, therefore it is reduced. Tinnitus, as I have often said is 90% mental. By this I mean: it is intrinsically linked to our mental and emotional wellbeing. The more one focuses on it particularly those new to tinnitus the louder it becomes. Stress makes tinnitus worse and tinnitus makes stress worse. If the stress and anxiety aren't managed a person can find themselves slipping into depression. Good quality tinnitus counselling as I have explained in my post above can help immensely in removing the negative thinking that is often associated with tinnitus. Therefore, over time negative thinking is dispelled and demystified and replaced with positive thinking. One will find the tinnitus is gradually pushed into the background and therefore the tinnitus noise becomes less intrusive.

If I were a doctor who didn't have severe tinnitus and read the above post, I would think people complaining about T were pansies. Leading me to believe TRT is a sufficient pacifier leaving nothing to cure.

That's where I get so pissed about the culture in the establishment surround this. They need to stay in their lane, but they don't. It is like they purposefully distort the reality of this condition to support their own stuff.

CBT is for OCD ADHD pricks like me that have relatively low tinnitus but are still bothered by it. Many others cannot even think well enough to work this treatment in the first place because it requires thinking and introspection, things that can be obliterated by severe cases.

I cannot speak about tinnitus treatment that happens in other countries as I have no experience. In the UK tinnitus patients are normally referred to a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist that specialises tinnitus and hyperacusis treatment and management. Some (not all) of these therapist were either born with tinnitus or acquired it at some time in their life. They will have a better understanding of tinnitus than any medical doctor or ENT physician. Doctors are not tinnitus specialists or experts in the condition they are physicians. They diagnose underlying medical problems within the auditory system or elsewhere in the body that is causing the tinnitus. If anything is found, they will usually try to treat it medically or surgically.

Therefore, someone that has noise induced tinnitus, which isn't caused by an underlying medical problem, should be seen by a Hearing Therapist or Audiologist that specialises in tinnitus. I agree with what you say, doctor may well think people suffering with tinnitus maybe pansies after reading my post because they know nothing about tinnitus because most have never experienced it. It is for this reason so many tinnitus patients complain that their family GP or ENT doctor doesn't have any understanding of what they are going through. I hasten to add not all doctors think this way, some a very helpful and understanding.

So, in summing up: Someone that is having difficulty coping with tinnitus needs to see someone that specialises in treatment for the condition and who understand it. My Hearing Therapist who I saw for 2 years for TRT with counselling and wearing white noise generators, was excellent, the reason being she was born with tinnitus.

So Sir Michael, what do you think about research funding being funneled into studies about personality traits and habituation kind of stuff?

In the zone currently editing and putting finishing touches on the Bryan Pollard interview. @Autumnly did a really good first edit. This is pretty good stuff, Bryan goes in good detail and is pleasant to listen to. @Liz Windsor - our magician transcriber - is currently transcribing the interview. If all goes well, we'll have this published in the next few days. Total length will be around 1h 16m.

Thanks as always for the amazing work from TinnitusHub

Again, I don't know if this happens in the UK and to be honest I gave up looking into studies and research into tinnitus cures many years ago, as I have had this condition for 23 years. I concentrate on positivity and getting on with my life. Helping people with tinnitus at forums and those that contact me by email and telephone.

To answer your question: I don't think funding studies into personality traits will yield much benefit. Treatments into helping people habituate I think is useful. When I first got tinnitus many years ago I was going through a very difficult time as a lot of people do with this condition. I read a newspaper article and it helped changed my outlook life and I've never forgotten it. It read: 19 out of 20 medical conditions cannot be cured but most can be treated and managed. Tinnitus has been around for thousands of years. The first medical records of it were written down by the Egyptians. Treatments for the condition back then were nothing like what we have today. Medication, sound therapy and counselling can help a lot of people to have a better quality of life with tinnitus.

What you describe has nothing to do with my illness other than hampering a cure. If your T can be made better by psychology then you're lucky you don't have T that can't.

If I focus on my T my heart will palpitate, so I can't. Still the ringing is causing my CNS distress. Even though I ignore this, it's still taking its toll. TRT can not prevent this.

I am sorry to hear of your circumstances and hope you are able to get some help. Please remember you are one person affected with tinnitus there are many thousands of people with it that find help, relief and lead a better quality of life thanks to: medication, sound therapy and counselling for tinnitus and that is a fact.

South Beach Skin Lab's video features a character named Christine Miller giving a testimonial in favor of the doctor's skin cream. However She has a fiverr profile here.

Pollard is the man I can't wait to see this interview!

Seriously no one is more based and red pilled about the seriousness of painful hyperacusis them him and Joyce.

I got a massive amount of work done today I still have to finish a few things and sort out all the fake automated website and fiverr actor stuff, finalize notes then proof read and I'm done.

I should be done with EVERYTHING tomorrow morning or late tonight. I will be uploading everything to a public Google Drive service. I hope one day someone could make a website documenting The story of Sparkhealthmedia so it can educate people on e-commerce scams.
