If I don't do this then I'm practicing irrational avoidance behavior.

But if you don't blare extremely loud noise, then you're engaging in irrational avoidance behavior, and you'll never habituate if you do that. What? It will make your tinnitus louder? Well that doesn't matter all that matters is your reaction to tinnitus.

I haven't made any claims here or stated what I believe. I was just stating that science is limited in this area and that's no insult to to science. I enjoy science philosophy and studies of religion.

They want to prevent health related suicides. But they don't give a fuck about biomedical research.

CBT and ACT are clown therapies. They address EVERYTHING but cure nothing.

I don't believe this, world is getting overcrowded as is...

There are very few cures. The most common of all, the common cold, is not cured yet...

Can you list me diseases that have cures=?

@Ed209 -- I've noticed that too. The same thing occurs on ME/CFS forums (and seems to be even more common and intense). I've concluded it's a phenomenon I'll likely never understand. I mean, how can you not be happy for somebody else's success? Just because their narrative doesn't somehow fit? :banghead:

This is ridiculous. You are insinuating that we are mad about people having success and recovering. I made a very lengthy post about the medical establishment's mischaracterization of tinnitus and their guidelines. It is not about anger, but I think you know that. None of you even will dare address the points people like Autumnly and I are making.

Me: I don't like how they claim it's our fault if tinnitus bothers us.
You: You're just angry.

Gimme a break.

You have to create false straw man realities like this to make your point.
er, did you muck up your quote block, or are you deliberately trying to drag this conversation into your little safe space here? I have zero interest in discussing this issue in this thread, and I think if you had a sincere point to make which you thought would withstand public scrutiny you would have posted it in @Ed209 's thread where this is ripped from.

I could, trivially, link you to fifty examples of exactly what I'm talking about from the last six months, many of which are your own posts. I will be happy to do so on 2/1, when I am once again getting paid to write here -- not worth it on my own time, but if you remind me in Feb, I'll be happy to oblige.

In the mean time if you want to seriously discuss this issue, welp, there's a whole thread for that and this ain't it.

Just chiming in... my apologies.
Coffee enemas... yeah there certainly is zero placebo effects going on there!

There is nothing that even "cures" 10%... there will never be a cure... maybe a "treatment" that will trick our brains someday... but never a cure.

(Loud day today... sorry... and I'm happy if people get relief from some of those alternative treatments... whatever works, I just have no patience to keep hanging on waiting for "science.")
